Fall is Here!

HAPPY FALL, EVERYONE!!!!

Before I get into my Fall excitement...here's a cool story :)

Child Whisperer:
This morning in Kindermusik, I felt a little like this guy. Cesar Milan, the Dog Whisperer:
Except the difference between the 2 of us is that I was the CHILD whisperer! I went to a new daycare this morning and first did a class with the 2 year olds and then the 3 and 4 year olds. The toddlers always make me nervous, because they typically look at me like I'm a crazy person. Which I kind of am. So I went to the toddlers last, because to be kind of honest, I was dreading that class the most. I had only 1 baby sign up, so I just did a free demo class for the whole toddler room. When I walked in there, it was loud and chaotic and full of poopy diapers and crying babies! I immediately began sweating with nerves. Well, I walked in there and began singing. Guess what. The greatest thing happened. The crying stopped. The yelling stopped. All babies were...calm. They looked at me with wonder. They smiled. Some scooted closer to see who I was and what I was doing. I had an elephant puppet with me, named Ellie, and they loved her. I was in there for about 15 minutes, and they LOVED it! Whew what a relief! I felt like the female version of Cesar Milan, except with chillins. All that to say, I was boosted in my kindermusik self-esteem and said to myself, "See, Abby! You CAN do this!" I just wanted to share this fun story :) Thanks for listening.

Fall? Is it really you?
I'm having a humbling experience, because until today, I thought that tomorrow was Fall! Silly me! I had my countdown wrong all this time! But what a great surprise! IT'S FINALLY FALL! But let's just discuss how hot it is outside. In my great city, it is now 91 degrees. And we're supposed to get up to 95 degrees. Stellar. It's not supposed to get down to the 70s until next week. Anyway. I'm so incredibly glad it's fall. I don't care about the heat, because I'm celebrating! My house is decorated and next week, I'm going to buy a buncha cans o' pumpkin to start cooking pumpkin goodies! Yesss!

Here are some reasons why I love the Fall season:
  1. The colors: reds, oranges, yellows, browns. A high school friend, Kailey, told me that my "Color Me Beautiful" season is Fall. Fitting, right?
  2. I LOVE anything and everything pumpkin! Pumpkin rolls, pumpkin muffins, pumpkin pie, pumpkin ice cream, chocolate chip pumpkin bread...any and all things pumpkin!
  3. My Birthday is in the Fall. It's November 28th and I will be turning 24 this year. I'm excited about this birthday, because I won't be a prime number anymore. I'll be a nice, pretty, even number. It'll be a good year.
  4. Cookouts! Cookouts are so much more fun in the Fall than in the Summer. You can make smores and burgers on the grill and you're not sweating bullets! Love it!
  5. It smells good outside in the Fall. Everyone lights their chimineas too.
  6. Rustling leaves. I love going on walks and crunching the beautiful Fall leaves.
  7. Thanksgiving. I LOVE that holiday. It's by far the BEST! The best food! The happiest people! Everyone is all "giving thanks"! It's just perfect!
  8. Hoodies. Nuff said.
  9. Apples and pies. Apple pie!
  10. The pumpkin patch! Pumpkins!!
  11. Halloween! I LOVE Halloween! And rumor has it that lots of families come to our neighborhood to take their kids trick-or-treating. So fun!
Okay, that's not all of it, but I figured you were getting bored...sorry.

Bible Study:
Last night, Jamie and I read several chapters in Isaiah along with Mark 5. I forgot how much I love the stories in Mark Chapter 5. It first talks about the demon-possessed man which is just crazy to think about. Jesus sent those demons into a herd of pigs, and those pigs went running into the lake and drowned. Jesus saved that man, and took the demons out of him. Demons are alive and real, y'all. Even today! But guess what? God is bigger than demons! He is more powerful than demons! He's stronger than demons! If you are battling with a demon or with challenges and struggles that Satan is throwing your way, combat him with the word of God. God is always going to win in the war against the devil! Always!!!
I just love that story! I think it's kind of crazy and bizarre, but so cool! Jesus sacrificed the pigs in order to save that man's life! So cool! We serve an amazing God, and I pray that you know Him! If you don't, please talk to me. I'd LOVE to talk about my Lord and Savior! Anyhoo, check out Mark Chapter 5. Please. Very cool stories!

I hope y'all have an absolutely outstanding day! Enjoy the first day of Fall and take some time to thank God for creating seasons! Yay! I love you tons and bunches!
