Weekend Activities

I had a really fun weekend with my Beloved and my puppy. Friday consisted of work for both of us, a BBQ outing for lupper, a walk with the puppy and then early to bed because I had to wake up early on Saturday for work.

Saturday started off with a morning wog (walk+jog), cereal and then off to work. We are actually about to change venues, so we are getting ready to put most of the store on sale and coming up with all the details, so that's been fun! I even got us all set up with a Pinterest account so that we can start "pinning" some new ideas for the store!

So I worked all day and then it was a date night in with me and my cute hubby. Salads and a thriller for us! Woo hoo! We had an Asian salad complete with:
  • Romaine
  • Spinach
  • Crunch chow mein noodles
  • Edamame
  • Shredded Carrots
  • Ginger Asian dressing
  • Grilled chicken
SOOOO YUMMY! We also watched "Dream House". It was actually a really good thriller with a good story and an interesting twist. I recommend it :)

Sunday started off with blueberry pancakes. Oh my yum. I love Syrup Saturday/Sunday! Then we were off to church, Schlotzsky's for lunch and a quick shopping trip!

First stop: TARGET! Jamie was on a mission for a certain item to bring on our trip to Atlantis this week. We found one at Target, but the price was wrong.

We did, however, find this gem:
I'd love for my hottie of a husband to be a sweater guy, but the fact of the matter is that he just isn't a sweater guy and never will be. I'm okay with that. I love him how he is :)

Then we headed on to Goodwill where he was successful with what he wanted and I was successful in finding some cute white capris (tags still on) and a sundress from The Gap. We got 4 shirts, 1 pair of pants and 1 dress for under $30. I love Goodwill.

We spent some of the afternoon on our porch reading and sunbathing. Leia LOVES laying on the balcony:
Jamie was studying for some tests that he took tonight:
Leia was soaking up the rays:
And I was studying as well:
I was studying new material:
Pioneer Woman's new book! So exciting! Kim, my mother-in-law pre-ordered this book for me and it arrived this weekend. I read her books like a dang novel!

I completed my Sunday afternoon with another wog and a date with Jamie at home.

Luck was on my side last week...

I was headed to the bank one day for work to drop off our deposit, and I realized that my gas light had been on for quite some time. I thought I could just ignore it, but I got that sick feeling that I was probably going to run out of gas in the bank line. So I made a last minute decision to run to the gas station fist!

I get to the gas station, get out of my car and I'm greeted by a lady from Iberia bank who said that she'd like to give me $25 to pay for my gas!!! It was their "Random Act of Kindness" day and I was one of the lucky recipients!!
I told her to "SHUT UP!" and "NO WAY" and she said I was her most enthused customer they had all afternoon. I certainly was :) I need to pay it forward...that made my day and I need to find out a way to make someone else's day!

More Puppy Fright:

So a little over a year ago, Leia got an allergic reaction to her one year old shots and ended up looking like Shrek. Friday night, Leia and I were on a walk, and she ate a piece of an ant-covered granola bar on the ground. I rapidly smacked the pack of her head causing her to spit out the food, but the ants were all over her face.

Moments later, she dry-heaved ants for a good 6 or 7 minutes. In front of a restaurant, I might add. With patio seating. Watching my dog vomit all of the sidewalk. Awesome.

We got home about a half our later and about an hour after that, I notice her acting funny. So I look at her and this is what I see:
See those bumps on her nose? Yeah, that's not normal.

Bumps all over her head, nose, snout, ears...
Stupid ants. Stupid granola bar. Stupid ant-covered granola bar.
I gave her a Benadryl. She fell asleep. The bumps spread to her belly. I spazzed and took her to the emergency vet. The waiting room was full and the nurse at the front desk told me that Leia would probably be fine. We went home. I took a bath. We all went to bed.

Leia...you wear my big butt out, sister!

She's all better now, praise Jesus!

In other news, last night, Jamie made chocolate chip cookies all by himself, and Leia helped:
They were delicious:

I hope your weekend was as grand as mine! Jamie and I are catching up on Once Upon a Time and then will head on to beddy-by! Love you guys!
