Here

I'm taking a quick break from my Bahamas updates, because I wanted to share a song that's been on my heart for a while.

I've been a big Kari Jobe fan for the past couple years, but it wasn't until this past year or two that I really started to get into her music and becoming a huge fan! We're talking...I follow her on Facebook, I stalk her concert schedule in hopes she'll make it to Gatorville one day, memorize her songs, watch her videos...okay, I'm a freak. But she's wildly talented, has a purely genuine heart for the Lord and sharing her heart through worship. I just love her. Plus, she is an Oral Roberts University grad! Yay Tulsa!

My recent favorite song of her's is off of her new album, "Where I Find You" and it's called "Here". It wasn't until the other day where this song really hit me. I bought her CD the day it came out and this song stuck out to me. I'm usually drawn to ballads and this one clung to my heart in a mighty way.

Watch it here and follow along with the lyrics:

I don't know about you, but the lyrics are so simple, yet they deliver so much truth.

Come and rest here.

Come and lay your burdens down.

Come and rest here.

There is refuge for you now.

You'll find His peace.

...He is near...

...He is here...

The more I thought about these lyrics the more I thought about how amazingly omnipresent God is. When you hear the word "here" that truly means anywhere! I know that some people find great solace in a church or chapel or other place of worship, but I think it is so incredible that God will truly meet us wherever we are.

Sometimes I find myself connecting deeply with God when I'm on a walk, or taking a bath, or sitting in traffic, or just sitting at the kitchen table eating breakfast. God does not require us to be in any formal setting and I think that is one of the coolest things about being a Christian!

All this to say, we serve a beautiful God who will meet us wherever we are. Praise Him for that! Listen to this song and figure out where your "here" is. Where do you meet God? Where will you be able to find peace, comfort and healing?

Love you guys and I hope and pray you find your special "here" with our sweet Jesus.
