Puppy the Turtle

I've got something really yummy in my kitchen right now.

Homemade granola:
It cooked all day...6 hours...yesterday, and our apartment smelled absolutely divine!
In the mix:
  • Oats
  • Mixed nuts
  • Dried cranberries
  • Lots o' cinnamon
  • Honey
  • Vanilla
  • Crunchy Peanut Butter
  • Coconut
I love granola, but I don't care for the really fatty and sugary granola you buy in stores. Plus it's cheaper and yummier to make yourself. Jamie likes to eat granola with his yogurt, so this'll be a yummy snack for him. Yum yum,

Puppy the Turtle

Who the heck is Puppy the Turtle you ask? Well, it's this little guy:
I found him on my walk yesterday, and I literally squealed out loud when I saw him! If you know me or if you've read my blog for some time, then you know that I have a huge LOVE of turtles. I love turtles of all sizes, turtle everything! If I ever have a baby boy, I want to have a sea turtle themed room. I just think turtles are adorable!

And when they're this yittle, then they're really precious:
His teeny face was so itsy bitsy and made me smile :)

Leia, on the other hand was not a fan of Puppy:
Why did you name this turtle Puppy? Well, here's my explanation: I was with my puppy, Leia. And Puppy was the first name to come to mind. Puppy the Turtle. Done and done.

I just love him:
I seriously contemplated taking this little munchkin home with me, because I've always wanted a turtle as a pet, but I knew I had no place for him to live, so I put him in a really pretty garden:
One day, I'll live on a lot of land and have one of those giant galapagos tortoises. I will. Just watch me. Or I'll live near and ocean and one of those giant sea turtles will come vist me in the mornings when I'm having my morning hot tea.

Hey, a girl can dream, can't she?

Anyhoo. There's my new baby turtle, Puppy.

Funny Video Friday: I'm Sorry Piñata

Jamie's sent me this video the other day, and I just loved it:

Poor little schnukum felt so bad for hitting the piñata. I told Jamie that I hope I have a sweet boy like this, and Jamie disagreed. He wants a child that's going to mutilate any and every piñata at every birthday party!! Little punk.

Leia update: She's feeling and acting MUCH better since we went to the vet. She is LOVING her wet food that the Doctor gave us to help out her tummy issues, and she loves this stuff! I think it's her version of a rib eye. She just goes crazy during feeding time. But...remember how I told you the Vet said she had gas filling her intestines? Well...Jamie and I can testify that the gas is leaving her body...one awful poot at a time. Her toots are out of control vile! I mean, they are truly filthy. I'm hoping this gas leaves her body a little quicker or else she's going to sleep on the balcony. Nasty pup.

MY FAMILY IS ON THEIR WAY HERE AS I TYPE!!! They flew to Houston yesterday and they're headed here right now! So stoked! Tonight, we're heading to Ruth's Chris steak house for dinner and my tummy is stoked! It's supposed to rain all weekend, but pray we get some pretty weather, because rain is icky when we're trying to have fun. Can't wait to see everyone :)

I hope you all have a fabulous weekend! What do you have planned? Working? Relaxing? Playing? Cooking? Baking? Working out? Fishing? Laying out? Cleaning? I hope you can enjoy your weekend and have some fun family and/or friend time!

Love you guys and give yourself a humongo Abby hug from me!
