It's been a long 24 hours for me, Jamie, but especially Leia. Starting late afternoon yesterday, I noticed a teeny area of vomit in our living room, and thought nothing of it. Leia voms from time to time, but that's because she doesn't chew her food when she's overly excited while eating. I have that same problem....
That was until Leia continued to throw up and diarrhea all night. Not the normal, solid kind of poo, but the ooey, gooey and runny kind of poo. Jamie and I cleaned up her "messes" all evening and into the morning. Poor dear got the pukes and poos real bad.
Since we live on the 2nd floor of an apartment building, there was no way I was getting dressed and walking her to the dog park every time she needed to go, so our balcony is now a really sick nasty "war zone" as I like to call it. Tomorrow, I'm making it my job to clean it up. Wish me luck.
This morning, she continued to "be sick" on the balcony, so I made an appointment to take her to the vet. Long story short, the Doctor felt her tummy and said she doesn't like the way it feels in there so they did an x-ray. What did they find? Lots and lots and lots of gas filling her intestines. She said they're basically bloated and overflowed to the max with gas. Her small intestine is inflamed as well and because of the growth in her intestines, her spleen was wedged in a weird spot. All this to say, she is experiencing great discomfort, causing her ickiness.
They gave her a shot of goodness and we have some pills and soft food to give her in the morning, but she can't eat or drink ANYTHING until the morning. Our pathetic pooch is walking around the apartment licking whatever crumbles might be on the ground and is whimpering, doing her best to look pathetic as to influence us to give her a morsel of food or drink. I think we're taking this harder than she is.
Our little girl was such a trooper at the vet:
Enjoying her ride home, looking out the window:
So, praise Jesus, Leia Lu will be just fine once this gas leaves her little body :)Oh hi there, Baby Black!

This weekend, Jamie surprised me with a HUGE and very unexpected gift.
I came home from work for lunch on Saturday and found this little beauty sitting on the kitchen counter:
My very own MacBook Air lap top computer!! What the what?! He has been asking me for well over a year if I want a new computer or iPad. I honestly don't think I'd use an iPad, but he wanted to get me something since my high school lap top died last year. He knows how much I love blogging and keeping in touch with friends and family via internet, but since he has so much work and school work to do, it's been hard to share his big computer. So he selflessly and thoughtfully bought me this gorgeous computer.

How stoked are all of you to get to enjoy this opportunity with me?
You know you want to see self portraits of me all the time! Who doesn't?!
