Even before we moved to Memphis, I've been fixated on going to the Memphis Zoo! I LOVE zoos! Even on vacations, I want to go to the local zoo. I love animals. I love walking. I love walking around, looking at animals. Therefore, I love the zoo. Today was no exception. We finally went to the Memphis Zoo and had great company to go along with us: Phillip and Emily. Love them. Great morning!
Here are some of the animals we saw:
Great big gorilla:
Orangutan:
These guys were hilarious! When we first got to their little exhibit, we were immediately entertained. The boy and girl orangutans were...umm...uhh...giving each other...uhh...oral...ugh...this is getting awkward...you get the picture!! It continued on for a while! And finally they stopped and played. Thank you for stopping the "monkey business". BA! I crack myself up!
Lady orangutan found a scarf:
Lady orangutan played "hide and seek":
Male orangutan wants more action:

It was probably an antelope of some sort because antelopes were all over the Memphis Zoo! I mean...every other exhibit!
Aren't they absolutely regal?!
These were Emily's favorites. I love their gorgeous print!
Me and one of my Memphis besties, Emily!
I love this girl to pieces and will miss her incredibly when we move! COME VISIT MONTHLY!!
Me and my betrothed:
I love this man with all my heart and I'm glad I'll have him in swampville with me :)
Crocodile:
Since we're about to move to the land of the swamps< I thought I'd capture this little beauty. This one was a mini something croc and he was kinda cute. He had a turned up nose and big eyes. Kind of elf-like. We saw his bigger and much scarier parents earlier in the day. They frightening!
Turtles!!:
You must not know me very well if you do not already know about my obsession with turtles. I love them. Almost as much as this guy...
Python:
I LOATHE snakes. I absolutely abhor snakes. I detest them. They are slimy and tricky and evil and disgusting and just...plain ol' nasty!
And guess what? They had a gigantornamous python just hanging outside on the ground for everyone to see and TOUCH! Including Phillip! I think less of you now, by the way!
Back to the real animals that God created...
Miniature Owl:
Isn't he just all kinds of precious?! I took this picture for all my Chi Omega friends out there! Hooty Hoo!
This little guy was hit by a car and the zoo took him in to make him feel all better. He is blind in his right eye and can't control the feathers on his right side, hence the sticky-uppyness of his feathers on the right. Sweet little baby.
Tigers:
If you look closely, each of them look different. The one closest to you is kind of a light orangey color. Like a dreamsicle. The one in the middle is white and black and the one in the back is darker orange. Gosh, they're so stunning and elegant. I kind of want one.
Hi Phillip! Hi Jamie!:
Jamie and I with the...statues?...Don't know who this couple is:
But don't we look great next to them?
Phillip and Jamie looking at some magic rock?...
Bald Eagle:
Wow. Never seen one so close before. They're incredibly gorgeous birds.
Polar Bear:
He. Was. HUGE! The polar bear at the Tulsa Zoo died recently and I heard they don't intend on replacing it. So, I'm glad I got a polar bear fix at this zoo. He was magnificent!
Elephant:
We waited around all morning for these giants to come out. Apparently, they are getting washed all morning long and don't come out until like 11:30. It was worth the wait. They're stunning giants!
We had a fun-filled day and I was so glad Phillip and Emily went with us! It was worth sweating like beasts in that hot hot sun!
Now we're headed back to their house to watch this week's Bachelorette while the boys play video games. Lovely.

I love that Jamie is holding that statue's hand! Hahaha. I laughed out loud. Love ya'll and miss ya'll!
