Grumpy Old Man

I feel like a grumpy old man this morning. Really grumpy. Kind of like Walter Matthau grumpy:
Speaking of, I love me some Walter Matthau. I cried when he passed away because I find him brilliantly hilarious and a wonderful actor!

Anyhoo!

Last night, our next door neighbors, who have a toddler and a 7-year-old, shot off fireworks (BIG fireworks), until past midnight. You know who really doesn't like fireworks? Leia-Lucifer. That's who she becomes when there are loud noises outside. She barked and growled and grumbled and groaned and grunted (and more g-words I can't come up with) until they stopped. After 12 in the AM. Thank you, Leia, for being our guard dog, but your 16 pound body isn't that intimidating!

All this to say, I'm a little exhausted this morning. Good news is....today and the rest of this week, I only work from 8:00 to 1:00. Whoop whoop! Today, I'm getting off at 1:00, going to the carpet place to pick out new carpet, and then I'm coming home to clean my house from top to bottom. That's my first step in getting this house ready to sell. Super cleaning.

Here's my plan for getting our house sold:
  1. Super clean
  2. Clean garage to prepare for the mounds of boxes we're going to store in there
  3. Pack up winter clothes
  4. Pack up office
  5. Pack up guest room
  6. Take down everything hanging on the walls
  7. Paint entry (and maybe paint the kitchen too?....)
  8. Trim back bushes in front and backyard
  9. Hide all the junk that kind of "clutters" our house
  10. Clean baseboards (blech!!)
  11. De-clutter everything!
I've been on a house-hunt all weekend, looking on realtor.com and trying to find a house for us in Lafayette. BUT. We MUST sell our house here before moving anywhere else. I'm approaching panic mode, but don't want to until I...need?...to. So, please pray that we have great success in selling our house or else I might get my first gray hair. No, thank you.

Alright. Pointless post...done! I'm out to work for a HALF day! Holla! Maybe I'll be back on later? :)

Love to all!

  1. I love your "pointless" posts. They give me a little bit of home to read in the mornings. Miss you! Good luck prepping to sell; if I were there, I would love to help you! Love you!!!
