Pooooor Leia

Blogger is finally up and running and letting me do what I want to do. Thank you, Blogger!

Friday was a big day for all of us, especially Leia Lu Bear. As the day carried on, all I could think of was the scene in Peter Pan when Nana and Father have a bit of a rumble, and Mother, Wendy, Michael and John all say in unison, "Poor Nana". Enjoy here:

I too was saying, Poor Leia.

The day started off like any other day. Woke up with Jamie. Worked out. Ate breakfast. Showered. Had some tummy rubbing time. This pup was happy:
And then it happened. We heard a couple vans pull up. Several car doors opened and closed. We heard men speaking quickly. We heard people in the back yard. In the front yard. Then ladders started going up, leaning against the house. Oooo buddy. I'll tell you what. Leia was in full on pitbull mode, ready to attack! Little does she know that she is 16 pounds of precious and not the least bit frightening. But she was ready to protect her mama if need be! All that noise was none other than these guys:
Roofers. We've actually been wanting these roofers to come by for quite some time now and we were thrilled that they were finally here to put on our beautiful new roof! But, it made for a very upset dog. The pounding and banging and walking on the roof and loud talking...all that really disturbed our poor pup.

Next stop: Sonic. A little pick-me-up :)
Leia was licking her chompers, hoping to get something delish. Good try, dog.

Side note: You Memphis people...have any of you struggled with breathing recently? My word! I've had the hardest time getting a good breath in! Jamie and I have both been using this bad boy because we just feel as though we're breathing through a straw.
No, I don't actually cross my eyes to "take a puff" :)

Next stop: PetCo to get Leia's nails trimmed. Oh the horror!!!:
More unhappiness. Poooor Leia.

BUT! She was rewarded with a bag full of chew things:
Then I took her over to Emily's to play with her favorite goggy, Daisy Mae, while I went to lunch with one of my kid's mama's at The Women's Exchange. It was delicious food in good company! Perfect combination!

Finally: The Vet. Leia has been scratching like crazy and we finally just took her into the vet because it was getting ridiculous. She was starting to scratch herself raw and making herself bleed. No. Fun.

So, we went there and she has a bacterial infection from the scratching and bleeding and also has a few doggy allergies. She got a shot in the tush and we got to take home 2 pills for her to take for the next couple weeks.

Look at how unhappy she is:
She REFUSED to stand on that table by herself. She kept crawling up me like a ladder. Poooor Leia.

I came home to the roofers still tap tap tapping away. Thankfully it was a one day job, but they were there from 8:00 in the morning until 7:00 at night. And this was the only mess they left us:
Don't worry, it was picked up later. Thanks, guys!

I also got me some new kicks! Look how cute they are:
I'm usually not a black running shoe girl or really a pink girl OR a Nike girl, but I really like these! Bizarre huh? I got them at DSW and the price was beyond right :) Win and win!

When I was at lunch with Laryssa, Camdyn's mommy, she gave me a card that Camdyn got for me. Here's the front:
So sweet. Here's the inside:
I know it's hard to see, but it says, "Stay out of swamp. I love Ms. Abby. Camdyn." There's also a picture on the bottom left of a swamp and me with a snake wrapped around me! He's really watching out for me, isn't he?! Sweet little boy. I'm gonna miss all their faces so much :)

So. All this to say, Leia had a long long day on Friday and she is glad it's over.

On the plus side, we have a new roof (which will hopefully attract buyers!!), Leia's nails look beautimous and her scratching is practically cured. It was a long day but a great day and we're grateful for our many blessings!

I'm about to make us some taco salad and go to the gym with the hubs now. Hope y'all have a great night! Love to all!
