Have no fear. I'm back! I know you've missed me enormously this weekend, without reading a single post from "A Deeper Life". Friday night, we hung out at the house and went to bed early. Friday was my last day of work, you know. And a great day it was.
On Saturday, we had a work day. A big work day. Jamie and I made rapid progress on our casa, getting it ready to sell.
Here's what's going on:
As I mentioned earlier this week, we got new carpet, which looks great by the way! But before the carpet guys came, I had to move all of the little stuff off the furniture and out from under the bed and all that stuff. Here's where I stashed it all:
Yesterday morning, we did not have Syrup Saturday, because you know Jamie and I are trying to lose a few L. B.'s. Instead, I made myself a piece of toast and had a bundle of grapes. Aren't I good? Kind of. I've already lost 1.5 pounds. Not bad. Not good. But not bad either.
So, I woke up and left to run a few errands.
First on the list. Gas in the car. My gas light was on and I made a speedy dash to the gas station to get gas and also a car wash. My car was in desperate need of a bath, so it got one.
I used to HATE car washes when I was little. Absolutely hate! Listen to how evil my dad and sister were. My sister used to tell my dad to take us through a car wash just to watch me spaz out irrationally! You two totally stink. Mama, I still love you though. This is what I used to do whenever we'd go through a car wash:
Scream. Cry. Whine. Yell. Probably hit and kick. Who knows? I wasn't a fan.
Now, I can go through car washes like a trooper!
Even with my scary, make-up-less face and my rat tail...I still enjoyed getting my car cleaned :)
After the car wash, I went to Lowe's to get paint samples, weed killer and gardening gloves.
Then I came home and Jamie was mowing. Good man. We both went back to Lowe's to get the paint to match our entry hallway.
Jamie did a fine job painting it, by the way.
Then I went back to Lowe's. Yes. I was there 3 times yesterday. To get more paint for part of our ceiling where we had a leak a few months back.
Jamie did a fine job painting that too! Thanks, hubster!
On my first trip to Lowe's, one of the workers who I dubbed Flirty-McFlirty-Pants, was overly helpful and stood way too closely to me. Get a hint, Mister! He was nudging my arm and calling me "girly" and following me around the store asking if I needed more help. No means no, you odd duck! He even followed me to the self check-out and asked if I knew how to use it. Yes. I do. Thank you. Weirdo.
Back to business.
Jamie's job in the hallway:
Don't it look purdy?
I, on the other hand, did the worst job in the world. In the heat. I picked weeds. For hours. I loathe picking weeds. Despise. Abhor. Hate. Oh, it's just a nasty job. And look at this job that I conquered:
Oh, it was such a pain in the tookus! Some of the weeds were so bad and so big that I had to lift up the stones to get the roots out from under there. Which, of course, I found bagillions of bugs and slugs and snails! I may or may not have screamed like a child. Yuck.
Leia Lu came out to visit me a few times to see how I was doing:
She was very...err uhh not very...helpful at all:
I mean, look at her! Girlfriend can't take the heat!:
After all my hard work (3 ish hours), look how nice it looks:
I still need to scrub it and make it look a little nicer, but it looks bookoos better than it did before! The only good part about picking weeds for hours is that I was listening to my "Broadway" playlist on my iHome, belting out show tunes. Hope my neighbors were thoroughly entertained by the various songs from Wicked, Rent, Hairspray, The Lion King and Phantom of the Opera :)
Lulukins was tuckered out after hanging out in the heat:
After all was said and done yesterday, here's what we got done:
- Paint entry
- Paint leak spot
- Weed front and back garden
- Trim back all bushes, front and back
- Trim back tree in front yard
- Declutter guest room, living room and master bedroom
- Sweep house
- 2 loads of laundry
- Cleaned kitchen
- Aaaand, I think that's it :)
I was glad the work day was over and so was Jamie. We celebrated our hard work and my last day of work by going on a nice date. We went to J. Alexander for dinner and then to Yogurt Mountain for dessert. For dinner, we shared chips and queso and I got an Asian salad with Ahi tuna and Jamie got a prime rib sandwich. Delish! I love that place.
At Yogurt Mountain, I got chocolate, cookies and cream and cake batter froyo with marshmallow cream, Butterfinger and Heath bits on top. Yummy in my gigantorm tummy!
After my walk, I washed this little lady in the tub:
Needless to say, she was not happy with me.
She got over it. She's clean and smells yummy now :)
Today, we went to church, then to Newk's for lunch (yum) and Jamie is sleepin' like a baby now. I went on a bloody hot walk this morning and almost had Jamie pick me up, because I was that miserable. No worries, I completed it. All 4.4 miles. I'm such a trooper!
Aight. Enough boring you all.
Hope you've had a great weekend! Love to all!
