I'd like to catch you up on yesterday and today. I've gotten a lot done and am right on track with my very large to-do list!
Tuesday
I started off my day at the Farmer's Market:
I went to the Farmer's Market a couple weeks ago with my class on a field trip and it was so fun. I wanted to go back asap! I ended up with a basket of peaches and a basket of small cucumbers. Oh my delish! So tasty! I'll be back!
Yesterday, I got a lot done, but I ended up making a bigger mess than I planned on. First off, I decided to paint this stool:
I've had this stool since I lived in a house with a bunch of my pledge sisters. It is just ugly and bare and yuck. So I finally painted it:
Painting was not on my to-do list, but I just had to do it right then and there! Looks cute, doesn't it?
Next up: Goodwill run! I've been purging our closets and drawers of the stuff we don't want/need anymore. It feels so good to do that! One thing that had to go was a mini refrigerator that we inherited with our old house. It was there when we moved, so we thought we'd keep it. Why? I honestly don't know. It was absolutely disgusting! It's also kind of heavy, so I had to get innovative in getting it into my car. Check it out:
Fridge on skateboard. That thing finally came in handy!
Next is lunch. I have a few coupons for free Chick-Fil-A sandwiches, so I used it yesterday.
Chicken sandwich, cucumber slices and a peach for some added sweetness. This was a top notch lunch! Thank you, Chick-Fil-A and Farmer's Market for providing my lunch!
Next: Pack up the winter clothes. I wanted our closets to look a little bit nicer and not so cluttered, so I packed them all up in trash bags:
Cheap and instant garment bags!
That was about all I did yesterday. I cleaned up the garage a little bit, but then dirtied it up again. This is a process, ya know?
Wednesday:
Today started with a bang! I wanted to get up and moving because I had lunch plans with friends.
I started off by cleaning out our laundry area. This area gets so cluttered and yucko, so I had to clean it up quite a bit. Doesn't it look better?:
Next is...the kitchen. This one was easy. Just some quick cleaning here and there. No big deal. Here's one view:
After those things were accomplished, I went to the gym and then did a Chalean Extreme video for some much needed weight lifting circuit. Then I came home, showered, painted my tootsies, and got ready for my lunch date with Emily and Jenny. Look how excited I am to be seeing people other than Walmart and Lowe's employees:
I don't get out much.
We went to Jim and Nick's and then watched this week's Bachelorette. It's a lame season. Who am I kidding? They're all lame seasons.
Yet.
I keep watching.
Back home.
Ironing Jamie's shirts. I really dislike ironing:
This is what Leia thinks of ironing too:
She's rather lick her under parts than iron. Gross.
My next step was the guest room. De-clutter, throw things away and make it presentable. End result:
Other view:
I found that little brown bench with the red bowls on it in my neighbors yard for free. There was a sign on it saying, "Free! Please take"! It's such a handy little addition to the guest room :)
As I was cleaning out the guest room, I found a few treasures from my kids. I probably got at least 7 or 8 pieces of art work from my sweet pre-k friends. Here are some of the treasures I've received:
Those are pictures of me. One of the girls in my class made "Mrs. Abby puppets" and continued to play with them the rest of the day. She insisted I have them because she'll just make more :) Love it.
Aren't these absolutely beautimous?:
I mean, look at the color scheme they've got going on?! They blend so nicely!
Here, they learned how to spell my name, so they liked to concoct these fabulous works of art and write my name on there. Brilliant, huh?:
You know, I gotta say that I'm glad to be home now and able to do my own thing and work on our house, but to be perfectly honest, I'm going to miss my babies so very much. I miss getting those drawings every day. They made me feel special. I love and miss them dearly already.
Last but not least...
I think I'm a 6-year-old in a 24-year-old body. I love stuffed animals. Any time Jamie and I are out and we see a pillow pet, I want one! Badly! They're so dern cute! Well, Jamie wouldn't let me keep any of my stuffed animals on my bed, so I put a couple on the guest bed.
This is "Ethel" the bunny (Chi O's will understand) and "Galinda" the bear:
I got the bunny from my Big, Kendall, my freshman year of college. Our pledge mama read The Veleveteen Rabbit to us and then we all got rabbits from our Bigs. I still have it, Big! The bear is from New York. Believe it or not, I was 20 years old when I went to NYC with my family and I got this bear in the Museum of Natural History. Who does that?!?! Who gets stuffed animals from a museum in New York when they're 20 years old?!?! I apparently. Oh, and her name is Galinda after Galinda from Wicked. Duh.
That's all for now. Jamie is about to get home and we have a date tonight! Hump day date! Woo hoO! We're going to Backyard Burgers for dinner then seeing Zookeeper. I'm pretty excited! Update tomorrow!
Here's a Galinda video for you Wicked fans out there. Enjoy!
