Getting Serious

I'm making this update short to get to the serious stuff. I realize Abby getting serious doesn't happen too often, but I gotta do it this time.

Let's begin.

BJ and Sarah got a new lab puppy! I saw the picture on Facebook Tuesday night right before I went to bed, and was like, "no way did they get another dog!" Whelp...yes they did! Sarah brought her by to see me last night and I was so glad she did. Look at how precious mama Sarah is with her new fur baby, Marley:
She was sooooo schweet! She was light and lanky and clumsy and precious. Aaaaand then she took a gigantornamous dump in my yard! (Sarah, don't you worry...I thought it was hilarious!)

Hi, Marley! You sure are precious!:
Leia, as always, is on the watch. She's our 16 pound guard dog:
The other day, I cleaned out the closet. I packed away all of our winter clothes so that our closet looked a little more presentable. Nice, huh?:
Love me some TOMS:
Look at how eclectic my husband is:
2 pairs of cowboy boots, one pair of Napoleon Dynamite-esque snow boots, navy boat shoes, Converse All Stars, 3 pairs of Sperry's (actually 4 because he's wearing one pair at work), Reef flip flops, and nice brown "Church shoes" under that. I married a very diverse man. And I love him :)

Back to today.

I cleaned out the garage a bit:
Then I had some lunch:
An orange, cucumber slices and salmon. Yummers.

Then I super cleaned out the office. For those of you who have been over to our house, the "office" was Jamie's man cave, complete with a Red Bull sign and snow boards and wake boards and snake skin...Lord have mercy...this room was busy! But now it looks lovely:
Another view:
I'm proud of it's progress.

Getting Serious

Like I've said before, I don't like to get super serious all the time, but I need you all to really stop and read this.

I need my prayer warriors out there to listen up and get ready to fall on your knees and beg God for a miracle.

A girl my sister graduated high school with, Kara, has an 8th month old son named James, who is battling a brain tumor. A very vicious and aggressive and growing brain tumor. I don't feel the need to go into great detail because you can read it all here for yourself. Kara and her husband have written a blog about their lives since baby Jamesie got sick and the agonizing process he's gone through. He had surgery a couple weeks ago to remove the tumor and it was very successful! There was hope. But earlier this week, they learned that the tumor grew back and was worse than before. Basically, they were given the option to take him home, keep him comfortable, love on him and let him go see Jesus in the comfort of his own home. Or, they could start chemo immediately where he would eventually pass on with tubes and cords and monitors all around him. They decided yesterday that they were going to take baby James home. To be at peace with those who love him the most.

Friends and families, I ask you to stop what you're doing right now and say a prayer for Kara, her husband, and baby James.

First, pray for a miracle. There's no harm in begging God to show us a modern-day miracle!

Second, pray for comfort over Kara and her family. I cannot imagine what they're going through, but I can only guess that they're scared, angry, confused and just heart broken. Pray that the Lord provides a healing hand of comfort and just blankets his love around them.

Not only comfort for the family, but comfort for James, as well. Pray that he is comfortable and not feeling any pain. Pray that he can feel the love around him. Pray that he knows he has a mommy and daddy who love him more than life.

Lastly, just pray that they trust God's perfect will. Pray that they are looking to Him in all their decisions and just trust in His will for their lives.

"Hear my prayer, Lord; listen to my cry for mercy." Psalm 86:6
