Sunset Symphony

Did you know that I've officially lived in Memphis for a year now? Isn't that insane?! My oh my, how time flies! This weekend marked the one year anniversary that I've lived in this uhh....err...lovely city :)

Before I begin, a few inevitable Lulu shots. Duh:

Yes, I bought 5 pounds of strawberries this week. I bought them on Monday, I think I've got like 6 left. Yes. I love me some strabs:
It was Syrup Saturday yesterday. So, we had whole wheat oatmeal chocolate chip pancakes with sugar free syrup and strawberries. I could only eat 1 and a 1/2. They were so stinkin' filling!
Yesterday, we went to Sunset Symphony with some friends of our downs by the river. They have an air show, the symphony plays music and there was also a band. It was the very first event we went to when we moved here. So fun! We brought blankets and food for a delectable picnic. We had BBQ nachos, potato salad, watermelon, Diet Coke, water, Sprite, Coke, Mellow Yellow (whatever that stuff is), and desserts. I made this yummy peanut butter Golden Graham dessert and these beauties:
No that's not a chocolate chip soft ball. It is in fact a chocolate chip cookie with this inside:
Uh huh. That's an oreo you see in there! But, here's the kicker. I made them using whole wheat flour. So, they're diet cookies. Right? Sure. Buuutttt, those were Double Stuf Oreos. Whoops. Not diet anymore. But they sure were delicious!! Took about 20 minutes just to eat one of them!

The river was so pretty because it was so unbelievably high with all the rain we've had this Spring:

I ADORE this picture! Jamie was actual pinching my rear trying to make me laugh...great success on his part. As you can tell, I'm gripping his arm tightly to get him to stop! But the best part is that he was smiling all cute! Usually he does a big dork-face smile. So, this is a definite framer!

Overall, it was a top night! We had so much fun with our friends and were full from our delicious picnic food!

I love that it's a Holiday weekend. I'm stoked that I still have one more day off work tomorrow. Can I get an "Amen"!? AMEN!!! Tonight, I'm not sure what our plans are, but as of now, we're lounging. Oh glorious Sunday afternoon.
