Pretty Wild

Last night when I got home from the scavenger hunt, I discovered a show called Pretty Wild on our Netflix. It's about these three sisters who are trying to make it famous in the modeling world. Their mom, Andrea is a former playmate who homeschools her girls based off of the book, The Secret. Yipes. They also base their faith and religion from this book. Yet, they worship other false *little g* gods like Ghandi and Buddha as well. These people are so lost. When they pray, they pray to ward off bad energy and ask for the gods to heal them and make things positive again. At the end of their prayer, they say "And so it is." They promote pornography, sex and more unbelievably wild behavior. The mom even takes nude pictures of her daughters and sends them off to hopefully get them in Playboy.

When I was watching this, I had to remind myself that this is for real. These people are real. They actually exist. Call me naive, but it just made me sad to know that there are families all around the world who act and think this way. I don't want to get into a redundant rant over this show, but it was just a good reminder for me to remember to pray for those around me. I am so wildly naive and tend to think that everyone in the US prays to the same *big G* God I pray to. I tend to think that when you're 16, 18 and 19, like these 3 girls are, that you're innocent and unaware of the sickness with which this world tries to tempt you. I also need to remember that celebrities are people too, and that they also need to be prayed for. I often scoff at celebrities' shenanigans, and then carry on with my day.

All this rambling to say, it is my job as a believer to pray for those around me and pray that they, too, find Christ and ask Him to be their personal savior. Not the glitz and glamor of the Hollywood lifestyle or whatever else consumes their minds, but that they turn their eyes to Christ.

I wonder what would happen if every single person in this world was prayed for by name? I think the gates of Heaven would need to be widened dramatically and that churches would need bigger sanctuaries. How amazing would that be?

Challenge: Today, who can you pray for? Whether you know them or not, pray for someone by name. Pray that they turn down all the idols in their lives and seek the one true God who still reigns in Heaven and will forever reign in His Holy Kingdom! Let's join together, Christians, and seek salvations for everyone around us!

Love you all! God bless!
