Simple Saturday

It was a very simple Saturday yesterday...unfortunately. This is mine and Jamie's last weekend together for a few weeks, so we wanted to do something fun! We had planned to go to the zoo several weekends in a row now, but it's rained every time. Lame. So, we knew it would be beautiful on Saturday, so that was our plan! Lo and behold we woke up, and it was pretty nice. We did inside and outside work for a while, and then the Heavens opened and it rained and rained and rained. I looked online and rain was forecasted for the rest of the day. Even thunderstorms! Bugger. So, no zoo for us.

We continued on with our day.

I collected Goodwill stuff:
Made his and her's pancakes.

His--Chocolate Chip:
Hers--Blueberry and oat:
Good and gone:
I bought a running skort! Whoop whoop!:
And yoga pants. Oooommmmm:
Blue running shorts:
That match my previously bought (and never worn because my butt's too big) pink running shorts:
I'm working on that whole "My butt's too big thing", but for now...those shorts will sit pretty in my drawer until my rear isn't so...uh...rear-full! All of these purchases are from Target thanks to my Target gift card from my kids at school. Thanks, kids!

Ironically, the clouds cleared and it was a STUNNING day!! It was PERFECT zoo weather. I was sooo unbelievably bummed since we missed yet another day to play with the animals. Jamie went fishing. I finished laundry, worked out with Claire, walked the pooch and actually showered for the first time in 2 days. Go me!

For dinner, we had a little last minute cookout with our buds, Phillip and Claire, BJ and Sarah. We had chips and queso, turkey brats, burgers, and angel food cake with strawberries and cool whip. Glorious Spring evening!

Now, I'm cooling off from a KILLER workout, about to jump in the shower, make a smoothie for breakfast, go to Starbucks with my lover, go to church, go to Houston's with our gift card from my parentals (thank you!!), then call my mama and tell her HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!!!, and work on a Mother's Day post :) I know you're all just holding on to the edge of your seats waiting for my next blog post.

Okay...that's not true, but one can dream, right?

Don't forget to tell your mama you love her today! Treat her extra special! If I were home with my mama, I'd be sure to spend every second with her, because I don't get to do that anymore. Friends, if you live near your mama's, spend time with them. You never know when you're going to live 7 hours away and 2 states away and never get to see them. It's not fun, my dears. Love on yo' mamas today and always!

Okay, I'm off to de-sweat myself! Finally. Love you all! Have a happy morning!
