This has been a tough couple weeks for workouts. I've been strugglin' to get up in the morning and this week has been extra tough because our air conditioning doesn't work. And yes, we have had 90* weather. Yuck. So it's been an off week. But this morning, I'm glad I got up and worked out because I had 2 really good workouts!
First off, if you own an iPhone and you enjoy working out, then this app is for you! It's the Nike Training Club, and it's fantastic and FREE!!! There are lots of workouts on there and exercises to do. It's like your own free personal trainer.
This morning, I did "The Shredder" which includes 30 minutes of:
- Straight leg kicks
- Back pedal
- Slide and glide
- Alternating forward lunch with arm curl
- Plank
- Tuck jumps (my LEAST favorite)
- Side lunch with rotation
- Ski jumps
- Reverse crunches
- Hip lifts
- Single leg deadlift dumbbell row
- Burpee to shoulder press
- Squat flips with 180* turns
- Push away balance
- Plank row
- Modified burpee
- Kick downs
- Lying quad stretch
- Standing hamstring stretch
- Pretzel stretch
It was a killer 30 minute workout which totally kicked my tail! If you have an iPhone and you enjoy exercising, but need a little bit of guidance on how to workout, this is the app for you!
Jamie and I enjoyed some breakfast together, and then I went out for a 1.25 mile walk/run. (The run part of my walk/run was rather pathetic.) We'll call it a "wun". On my wun, I saw this nasty creature:
Here, it's running towards me!:
Blech! I was literally giggling out loud, taking pictures with my phone and kind of squealing at the same time. I'm sure my neighbors thought I was a certified looney toon!
Humbling moment: I've been jamming to the "Teen Pop" Pandora station. In fact, I've been dancing around my house listening to songs like "Circus" by Britney Spears, "Like a G6" by Far East Movement, "Dirty Pop" by N*Sync, "I Want it that Way" by BSB and so much more! It's pretty fab and I highly recommend you check it out and start listening stat! :)
Alright. I'm outa here. Back to the grind. Back to work. Back to too many screaming 4 and 5 year olds. We're talking about fairytales this week. It's been pretty cute so far. They're very into the prince and princesses and witches and dragons and heros and such. I love it too! Love my kids :)
