Who Will Love Me for Me?

Before I get "serious", let me show you a few random pictures :)

S'mores Bars:
I made these yummy bars for our school luncheon yesterday. One of the teachers is leaving, so we had a "Farewell Lunch" for her. These are delish! If you'd like the recipe, let me know!

Thirsty Thursday:
I really like fun drinks, but at the same time I really dislike drinking my calories. I'm not a big pop/soda/coke person, and I try not to drink a lot of it, but I'm also not a big coffee person. I love hot chocolate, but it's horrible for you with all the cream and sugar. So...I was boring and settled for some homemade diet Swiss Miss hot chocolate with a few marshmallows of course!
GOTTA Start Eating Healthier:
I've been lagging big time in the healthy eating part of my life. I need to start eating more salads and fruits and veggies. I used to be good at it...need to find that Abby again! Here was my salad concoction this week: Romain, Feta cheese and walnut pieces with Raspberry Vinaigrette. Pretty tasty! And very healthy :)
My dog looks like a rat...
What Love Really Means:
There is this new Christian song by JJ Heller that I have fallen in love with called "What Love Really Means". It is a beautiful song about God's love and how He is the One who should make us feel loved and worthy in life. So often we try to seek love and comfort and worth and satisfaction from everything else around us, except from the love of our Heavenly Father.

I know that before I got married, I'd try to seek love and affirmation from anything but God, because that's a "quick fix". That's easy. We just find someone or something to "Fill our Buckets", and be affirmed by that. But the thing was, God never provided me that person or that thing that could love me for me. I sought out friendship from a particular group, and they continued to leave me out. Sounds very high school and juvenile, right? It was. But it hurt me and devalued me. God was trying to teach me a lesson. He wanted me to fall in love with Him and seek my worth and value from His love alone!

I know this all sounds like something you have already heard and that you already know, but it is such a good reminder that God loves YOU for YOU! As the song says, "I will love you for you, not for what you have done or what you will become. I will love you for you. I will show you the love, the love that you never knew." God will show you the love that you deserve. The love that will make you feel worthy and brand new. The love that will fill you. The love that you never knew.

If you begin to feel like you are unworthy of the love of Christ....you are. I am. We all are. We are sinful. We are foolish. We are selfish. BUT. Here's the good part. God. Loves. YOU!!! He is crazy about you! He created you! He wants the best for you! He's your biggest fan! Your loudest cheerleader! Seek your worth and your comfort from Him alone. He's all you need :)

"The Lord your God is with You. He is mighty to save. He takes great delight in you. He will quiet you with His love. He will rejoice over you with singing!" Zephaniah 3:17
