Morning walk

I've had a stellar morning. Crazy, right?! I woke up and had a really refreshing walk around my neighborhood. I intended on waking up at 4:40 to get to the gym, life weights before all the meat wads get there, and get in about 45 minutes of cardio to get home in time to eat breakfast with Jamie. Well. I don't recall my alarm going off. I must have been sleeping like the dead! But I woke up on my own at 5:10, so I thought, "Self. Get up. Go walk." Simple as that.

It was glorious. It was about 74* (which is cool these days), and I just spent my time praying and having a great conversation with God. I forget how nice it is just to kick back and really talk to God. I talked to him about EVERYTHING!
  • My marriage (which is stellar by the way!)
  • My job...which tends to be a struggle
  • Jamie's job
  • My parents--endurance throughout their "busy season" at the office
  • My sister and brother in law--they're always busy. I also prayed that I'd get to see them soon :)
  • My in-laws. I love each of them more than they know! My brother-in-law is going to Dartmouth in the Fall, so they'll have an empty nest this next year. They'll need some prayer as things will be pretty different around the house.
  • My friends. I love all of my friends. Many are married now to very godly people and I'm so grateful for that! Praise God for giving all of us such wonderful and godly spouses!!
  • Our future. Kids. Moves. Life and love. Etc.
I just had a great convo with my sweet Savior and was so grateful to have that time with Him. Why I don't do that more often? I have no idea. Lesson learned. I will strive to be more intimate with Christ and talk to Him not on just an every day basis, but on a several-times-a-day-basis. It was a great start to my day!

Plus, I got this beautiful view of the golf course in our 'hood, bright and early. Boy, do I hate golf! But I think the courses are beautimous!

In other news...

Yesterday, one of my sweet little 4-year-olds drew a picture of me. She gave it to me and said, "Mrs. Abby. Look how bootiful you aw! I know you wike to weaw dwesses, so I dwew you weawing a dwess!"
Apparently I'm Amish too with the long dress to my ankles and up to my chin. J/K! J/K!!!I kid! I think it is a "bootiful" self portrait of me and I love it :) My kids are so precious and drew me the cutest things. I'll have to show you more pictures sometime!

Since it is unbelievably, painfully hot outside, I've traded in my beloved Tervis Tumbler and am drinking out of this bad boy throughout the day:
My GIGANTORM water jug/cooler! I love it! I got this baby in high school after I saw a Kanakuk counselor drinking out of it. Oh how I loved and adored each and every one of those counselors. I wanted to be just like them! So I got a jug like them too :) This thing holds a whoppin' 64 ounces of water! Holy moly!

I drink a little more than one of these a day. You'd think I go tinkle about every 10 minutes, but actually I sweat like a daggum banchee, so...no. I don't go tee-tee all the time. You get the picture.

I love this guy...
Alright. I've gotta get to school. Darn. Today a yoga instructor is coming to lead a class for my kids. It'll be hilarious! I'm excited :) I best get going. Love you all. Have a great day, my dears!

Let me leave you with a brilliant rendition of Adele's "Rolling in the Deep" performed by Rachel and Jessie from Glee. Oh, how I adore this song and their version. (Pardon the poor sound quality, but you get the picture)
