Remember a couple days ago, I told you I wanted to reupholster my dining room chairs? Well...I DID IT!!! Woo hoo! Before I get to that, let's go back a couple days.
1. Wake up, Goggie!
This is irrelevant, but I have a precious pup. She had just woken up from one of her many day time naps, and I caught her in the act. What a dolly!
2. Sunday School Fall Fest:
Saturday night, we had our Fall Fest party at Holly's parents' house and it was a hoot! We had a chili cook off, lots of food, a bon fire, smores, a deathly hay ride and outstanding conversation. Did I take any pictures? No. Do I wish I did? Absolutely. I'm bad at that stuff. Anyhoo, the food was tasty and the hayride was hellish and the bon fire was perfect and the smores were delish! I made White Trash Casserole, otherwise known as tater tot casserole. It was quite the hit, if I do say so myself. If you'd like the recipe, I'm more than happy to give it to you, because it's one you'll want to keep in your recipe box for sure!
3. Paula Deen's Restaurant:
A few weeks ago, I went to Mistletoe Merchant with several girls from my Sunday School class, and while we were there, we got some excellent little taste-testers of Paula Deen's Ooey Gooey Butter cakes...ooooo baby, those are goo-oo-ood! They were also passing our "Buy one get one free" coupons for her buffet in the Harrah's Casino in Tunica, Mississippi. So, I got one (duh) and so did Sarah. Well...Sunday evening, we made the 45 minute drive to the casino and ate a delicious feast of many Paula Deen foods and galore. Holy fatness, Batman! We ate til it hurt! Let me just tell you some of the food that I ate.
- Mashed potatoes
- Sweet potato
- Prime rib
- Hoe cake
- Cornbread muffin
- Fried shrimp
- Fried scallops
- Fried catfish
- Mac N Cheese
- Ribs
- Brisket
- Ice cream
- Chocolate ooey gooey butter cake
- Bread pudding
AND THAT'S ONLY THE STUFF I REMEMBER EATING!!!! It hurt...badly. But it was so good and so worth it! Will we go back? Ehhh...maybe. Maybe not. It was so good, but had we not had the coupon, it would have been a pricey meal to get so full so fast! But oh man...it's worth the drive to eat her food! Yummy!
Here are a few pics from that night:
Call Me Little Miss Crafty!:
I took on quite the task, my friends. I reupholstered my dining room chairs! I'm not big on do it yourself projects, because I don't have that much faith in myself, but this one, I KNEW I could do! And I did it! Now, our kitchen/dining area is brighter and more colorful and looks so good! And I must say...I'm proud of myself. Now I just need visitors to come over, eat at our table, sit on those chairs and pat me on the back. J/K on the last part, but the others are true! Come over! Here are a few pic-a-lics of my DIY chair project:
The chair. Before the massacre began.:
My very first cushion! All done! (I'm not showing you the underside for a reason...and I probably shouldn't have shown myself either. YIPES!!!):
Jamie and I are about to head to dinner at my Secrets Bible Study! Our spouses get to come tonight! Woo hoo!
Until tomorrow! Love love love!

SO PROUD OF YOUR CHAIRS!!! They really do look good. I'm glad you decided to go with the blue. Great choice!
