Date #2 was last night. Jamie, Jenny, Allen, Emily, Phillip and I went to eat some delish pizza at Johnny Brusco's and then saw Inception. Pizza=AMAZING! Movie=much better than I actually thought! It was an intense movie with lots of action and yelling and bad words and blood and killing, but there was also a touch of romance. And even better, I actually understood it! I kept hearing that it was a confusing movie, but as far as I know, I understood it. I recommend it!
You Are On Our Side
One of my favorite singers in the whole world is Bethany Dillon. She is young and talented and kind and beautiful and Godly and has such a lovely voice! I just love her! Plus, she's married to Shane Bernard from Shane and Shane! They will have talented babies! Anyway, she's amazing, and I urge you to check her out sometime! Here is a website to get a little more info on her: http://bethanydillon.sparrowrecords.com/biography/
So there is a song that she sings called "You Are On Our Side" and before you read on, listen to it Here. As you're listening to it, listen to the words carefully and really let it sink in about what an incredible God we serve. It should be humbling. It should be moving. It should make you think. Enjoy.
These are the lyrics to the chorus: "You sit at the table with the wounded and the poor. You laugh and share stories with the thief and the whore. When you could just be silent and leave us here to die. Still you sent your Son for us. You are on our side." The first time I heard this song, I was moved by the Holy Spirit in a big way. It made me realize that I am no better than the orphan and the whore and the thief and so on. If we choose to follow Him, then He is our advocate. He is our friend. He is our God. Our Savior. Our Father. Our biggest fan. He's on our side.
Stop and think about that for a second. We serve a God who is truly on our side! He's wearing a "Team Abby" shirt and a "Team Jamie" shirt and if you have chosen to follow Him, then He's wearing a "Team _____" shirt as well!
I love the story of David and Goliath (1Samuel17) because David just knew that he had the ability to fight and defeat Goliath, this huge giant, because he knew that God was on his side. Oh to have that kind of confidence.
I feel as though we are too often on our own sides. We think we can handle everything on our own and that we're our own cheerleaders. Why is it so hard for us to accept the fact that we serve a God who WANTS to cheer for us and guide us along this road called "life"? There are times when I look at political leaders and teachers and professors who should be on my team, wanting to better my life and encourage me in all that I do. But let's just be honest, that's just not the case all the time. Why do I allow myself to get wrapped up in that mumbo jumbo, when I know that Jesus Christ, my Lord and Savior, is cheering and fighting for me. Wow. Personally, I find that rather humbling.
Before you close this page, please go listen to that song and be amazed at our God and Father.
I love you all. Be blessed. Have a delightful weekend. Spend time with those you love. Smile. Laugh. Do something out of the ordinary. Have a ball :)

Jamie's jorts are amazing. Have you seen that Fantasy Factory where Rob's parents come and they go to the beach? That's what Jamie reminds me of here. Awesome! And great post! Miss you so much. :(
