Busy Week

Get this, folks. I've actually be busy this week! It's been excellent! Here's the lineup:

Monday: I did like a trillion loads of laundry (okay only 4, but it felt like much more), I cleaned the house to make it look pretty for my husband and for our company that night, and then I made Pioneer Woman coffee cake! mmmm! Seriously. Y'all MUST make that cake! It'll change your life and the size of your rear. Monday night, Emily and Jenny came over to watch The Bachelorette: Men Tell All, and boy was it funny! Kasey TOTALLY redeemed himself by singing and making fun of his cheesiness! Love it! But I gotta be honest with you. I don't think Alli is going to choose either guy. What do you think?

Tuesday: I helped Jenny at Bellevue all morning and afternoon. She works in the music department and we put together a bunch of tubs for the children's classes and organized some junk, slapped some labels on some tubs...ya know. Just a bunch of organizational stuff that needs to get done :) It was great! We had a really good time just chatting and being productive. That night, I went to dinner with a couple of ladies from my Sunday School, and that was lovely :) After that, we went to this "Girl Talk" at the church. Jean Stockdale was the speaker and she was phenomenal! (Notes on her talk at the bottom)

Wednesday: Today, I woke up, cleaned up, went to the gym, played with puppy, had lunch at Emily's parents' house for her birthday (chicken tetrazzini, roll, carrots, broccoli, cupcakes=yummm), then we got pedicures(praise Jesus) , now I'm writing this blog :) After this, I am going to clean up the casa and mow the lawn. Jamie's been a busy worker bee at work and I want to make him proud by doing a "man's job" and getting the grass all nice and neat. I have bible study tonight, but I haven't seen Jamie all week. I think I need to spend some time with him. Especially since he's had such a big week!

Thursday: Tomorrow, I don't really have anything too exciting going on. I'm going to volunteer for this thing at a church in the city to help tutor children after school and lead a bible study for them. Tomorrow night is a meeting at the church to get trained to work with those children. I'm pretty excited about it and feel as though that'll be a little bit of good that I can give to the city of Memphis.

Friday: No plans really. At all. Friday night, I have a date planned for me and Jamie. Just me and him. No I'm not going to tell you and ruin the surprise? Are you kidding?! Let's be honest. Like he reads this thing. But anyway, I'm taking him out to eat and then we'll just have a lovely weekend at home with just the two of us. Love him. Love us.

So that's my week in a nutshell! It's been a great week, and I've enjoyed getting busy!

Prayer Request:
I am really hoping to find a job! I've got a screening interview for Shelby County Schools in a couple weeks, but that's only to make sure I'm a real person and not some deviant. Basically, I'll probably have to sub for a year before I can get a job. No thank you. I'm trying to keep my head up, but I'm asking that you all please partner with me and ask that the Lord will guide me to the right job. Please pray that something opens up and needs me, Abby, to fill that position. Thank you so much! If you all ever need prayers for anything, please do not hesitate to ask!

Jean Stockdale Talk:
I won't say everything that she said, because I want you to check it out for yourself. Here is where you can find the videos. I don't think it's posted yet, but it will be. Some come back and listen to her. She is brilliant and hilarious and loves the Lord so very much! Check her out! Here are some of the notes that I took last night:
*Sin always produces suffering
*God will never let us get away with our selfish sin
*1 Kings 16 and 17 (Story of Elijah)
*We're not living in a time much different than back then--worshipping our modern day Baal
*We slip into horrific sin if the word of God is ignored
*Elijah was an absolute nobody! But God loved him and He loves us and uses common people to do His good and mighty work
*God will use anyone whose heart is sold out for Him
*"The only safe place is in the center of God's will"--Cory Tin Boom (But that doesn't mean that he won't take you through tough places to get to that center)
*Eventually the brook will dry up--and that is when your faith is tested
*We are living in the enemy's camp, and we need to always be on guard
*God's purpose is to bring glory unto Himself, not to make us comfortable
*Philippians 3:8
*Victory is sometimes messy (Picture a battle scene. The victor is always bloody and bruised. Battles are messy and tiring)
*God's big enough for you to whine at and complain to and cry your eyes out
*He allows us to question Him without rebuke when the intention of our heart is to serve him.

I'm SOOO glad that I took these notes, because she was a-ma-zing! The only problem is that I didn't have paper, so my notes are on a napkin :) Hey! Whatever works!

Enjoy your Wednesday, y'all! Love you and God Bless!
