My days off are usually on Mondays, but I honestly can't remember the last time I had a day off. Since I literally live above the store at which I work, I often get called into work on my days off if the person working gets sick or has to leave or whatever the reason. No big deal. I don't mind the extra hours.
Usually on my days off, I do all the laundry, run errands, go to the grocery store, clean up, dust, vacuum, sweep, clean bathrooms, etc. My day off this week was today, and a glorious day it was. I decided that since I haven't had a good day off in a while and since it was on a different day, I thought I'd change it up and laze around. So today here's what my day entailed:
- Woke up
- Took Leia to go potty
- Weights class
- Walked Leia on a long walk while listening to a lifechurch.tv sermon
- Laid out by the pool and read "Let's Roll"--a new book my mother-in-law let me borrow. So good!
- Fell asleep by the pool for a while. Glorious.
- Came inside and ate leftover BBQ nachos
- Took a nap with Leia (until she woke me up with her snoring)
- Watched Smash
- Watched GCB
- Took another walk with Leia
- Watched Rango with Jamie--weirdest movie ever!
- Got ice cream with Jamie
- Put away some laundry
- Took yet another walk with Leia
- Now I'm watching Army Wives. And crying. As I usually do while watching that show.
It's been an a-ma-zing day off. I think I'm going to try to embrace my days off more often. I work most Saturdays, so that's not a day off at all, and on Sundays, I usually get into cleaning mode. So my days off need to be a true day off. No work. No cleaning. Just lounging around, catching up on Hulu shows and enjoying life. :)
Awesome day.
I feel refreshed.
By the way, my memory verse for this week is Romans 12:2. Let's see if I have memorized it yet. Here it goes..."Do not conform to the patterns of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve God's will for your life--His good, pleasing and perfect will".
BAM!
I just checked it and nailed it! I'm really getting into this whole scripture memorization thing. Here is last week's memory verse that I still remember:
Philippians 4:6--"Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God."
BAM!
I really hope I keep up this pattern of scripture memory because both of those scriptures apply to my life in mighty ways. It's comforting to know that God's word is not only in my mind but in my heart as well. Two verses in two weeks. So far so good.
Friends and family, please encourage me to keep this up. Quiz me from time to time to see how I'm doing. That'll keep me accountable for sure!
Alrighty, Jamie has been asleep for quite some time, and I should probably wake him up, get him off the couch and crawl into bed for snooze time. I'm waking up at 6:00 to walk Leia and listen to another lifechurch.tv sermon to start my day off right, and get to my spin class by 7:15. Work at 10:00.
Love you guys and I hope y'all had a TERRIFIC Tuesday!
