Happy Easter, everyone!
Jamie and I thoroughly enjoyed our day by sleeping in a little bit, munching on some breakfast in bed while watching old Office episodes, snuggling with each other and Leia and just hanging out before church. Believe it or not, we were a good 7 minutes early to church this morning. That never happens. And we even live spitting distance from the church we go to. It was a nice service with a good message and a very full sanctuary. Great start to Easter Sunday.
When we got home, we nommed on homemade BBQ nachos for lunch and then had a nice long Sunday afternoon nap. We planned on going to the pool, but it was too busy. Busy pools=no way Abby is getting in a swimsuit in front of mixed company. Not hap'nin'.
I know that there's always a joke of people being Christmas and Easter church go-ers, but I really do hope your body made it to church this morning, or at least heard an "Easter message" today on your computer or iTunes or something. It truly is an important one to hear and take in. If you're in need of a good sermon, I can almost guarantee that Bellevue had an amazing sermon this morning so be sure to stop by www.bellevue.org tomorrow to listen to Brother Steve's Easter sermon. Last year's was incredible. In. Credible.
There are also so many songs out there talking about the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, and no matter if it's Easter or not, they almost always make me cry. I can't help but remember the movie "The Passion of the Christ", envisioning Jesus being beaten and spit at and mutilated beyond recognition. Yet through all of that, Christ rose from the dead, and our God was and is victorious. Praise Jesus for that!
This is one of my favorite songs about Jesus' death and resurrection and I just love it. In case you missed an Easter service today, at least take a few minutes, listen to this song and then I encourage you to get in the Word and learn more about how truly deep our Father's love for us is.
Love y'all. Happy Easter!
