Day 3 at The Animal Kingdom

I was stoked and ready for a fun filled day at Disney's Animal Kingdom Saturday morning! We all slept in as late as we could since we didn't get home until after 1:00 the night before, so it was a late start. Much needed late start.

I woke up and walked around the resort that morning while the boys were still waking up and getting ready. It was a gorgeous resort that was connected by a bridge to the Pop Century Resort (I believe):

Gorgeous (but hot) morning already!

Here are a few pics of the lobby area:

Since we stayed at Disney's Art of Animation Resort, the walls were covered in drawings and what seems like original pictures from famous Disney movies--more particularly The Little Mermaid, Cars, Finding Nemo and The Lion King. Those were the movies that all the rooms were decorated in at our resort. We stayed in the Finding Nemo room. Too cute for words.

I sure did love the lobby, though:

And the boys loved the arcade area:

Next stop: ANIMAL KINGDOM!!!!!:

Our first "ride" was the show, "It's Tough to be a Bug"--the "A Bug's Life" 3D show. It was hilarious and fun! I loved it.

Of course I had to get a pic with the Beauty and the Bees poster:

I love puns.

And I definitely loved the monkey area:

Monkeys are one of my favorites!

Lunch was at the Rainforest Cafe:

Sooo yummy! And of course, festive!

After dinner, we walked around the shops for a little bit before heading to the Dino World area:

Kirby and Camie rode on this super fun roller coaster, but Jamie doesn't do spinny rides, so he and I shopped a little bit more. Hi Camie and Kirby!:

I felt very welcome indeed in the Dino World:

After the ride, we headed to the African Safari. I told everyone that we just had to do the safari no matter what! It is too cool to miss!

I loved seeing this tree all day:

So cool.

Kirby loved the bongo guy:

On to the safari...

Sleeping rhinos:

These guys are massive tanks:

Don't remember this guys name, but he sure is pretty:

A whole bunch of hippos:

I saw a picture of a baby hippo on pinterest the other day, and told Jamie that I wanted one. And I'm kind of serious...

Whole lotta crocs:

I live in Looosiana. Those jerks don't scare me.

Another pretty horned animal:

Giraffes:

Those are some gorgeous animals.

So tall and elegant:

ELEPHANTS:

The animal kingdom said that I could have this baby one if I wanted:

Okay not really, but how cute is the yittle baby elephant?

This little guy was super thirsty! He drank and drank and drank that water:

It was hot as hades, so I don't blame the poor mammal for cooling off with a drink of H2O:

Another rhino tank:

These guys were pretty close to us and they truly are ginormous!

Not sure what these are, but their horns were really tall:

And hiding and resting in the back was a beautiful leopard, I believe. Or it could have been a jaguar... I don't remember...but it was stunning and regal:

And there was a big beautiful lion, relaxing in the shade:

I couldn't get a good picture of him, but he sure was a pretty kitty.

I forget what these buddies are called, but they looked like warthogs:

Big and ugly and stinky is what they are. But fabulous all at the same time, because they're at Disney World. And everyone is fabulous when you're at Disney world!

More tall-horned animals, hanging out by some ostrich eggs, I think:

The safari was definitely my favorite part of the day! I loved it so very much. I love zoos. I love Disney. This place is the perfect combination of the two.

Me with the monkey:

Hello, cute little monkey! Want to come live in Lafayette?

How beautiful is that backside?

Fat toad:

I feel like him some days...like a fat, lumpy toad.

Big o' gorilla!

These guys are so fascinating!

On our way out of the park, we saw this band playing one of my favorite songs from "The Lion King" the musical, and I was dying! They were singing "He Lives in You" and I [sadly] knew every word and did the hand motions with these guys and everything!

This guy was out. of. control. on the baby saxophone:

I mean, truly out of this world!!!!

This band was definitely a highlight of the whole trip! I loved this band! I loved their energy! I loved dancing with them! I loved singing with them! I loved everything about it!

This guy was killing it on his sax:

I wish y'all could have been there to hear him. Best time of my life!

I loved the Animal Kingdom! It was a FANTASTIC day full of laughs, smiles, sweat, walking, exploring, animals and more! I just love this place :)

Stick around for Saturday night's events in a later post. We had dinner in a very special place!

Love y'all! Happy Sunday!
