Day 2 at Disney's Hollywood Studios

Day 2 started off fabulously. Duh. I'm at Disney World. How could it not have been beyond fabulous? Anyhoo, we ate some breakfast at our resort and I nommed on a Mickey waffle with fruit. So delicious. So Mickyfied.

Then, we headed to Disney's Hollywood Studios. I need to let my husband and, brother and sister-in-law that although I may have seemed obsessed and Disney-crazed...I really took it down a notch. If it were up to this white girl, we'd be at the front of the line waiting for the gates to open. But I love my family and didn't want them to think I was too out of control.

Oh, but before we left the resort, Kirby had to dress up like Captain Jack Sparrow:

The big blue Mickey Wizard Hat at Hollywood Studios:

My heart was filled with overwhelming joy. I mean just look at how happy that hat is:

Our first little characters we met first thing in the park were Goofy and Pluto:

Cute little guys. I'm so glad we took the time to get pics with them.

Jamie and Kirby stopped to do a Star Wars ride:

Well, no, not that one. But a real ride. They loved it.

And Camie and I went to see The Little Mermaid show:

Very cute and festive. I love The Little Mermaid and Camie remembered seeing this show when she was little :)

As we headed to lunch, we got stopped by a Disney Channel parade featuring all High School Musical songs. So fun! I think I could have been a part of the quartet because I knew most of the songs. Not sure if that makes me cool or juvenile...

Lunch was at 50's Prime Time Diner:

It was a--you guesssed it--50's themed restaurant. The waiters and waitresses were kind of sassy and made sure we used our manners and ate our veggies, and it was just an all around good time. In our little dining area, they had 50's TV shows playing. I was in heaven. And I should have been raised in the 50's as well. My favorite time period.

I'm still amazed that I was there less than a week ago...

After dinner, we were all stuffed and very hot, so we wanted to find a ride that was indoors (air conditioned) and slow. Slow, because we didn't want to vomit all over Disneyville.  Micky wouldn't like that. So we headed towards The Great Movie Ride, because that is a ride that I've always wanted to do, but never have.

But first, we had to admire some of the famous Hollywood squares outside of the ride.

Mrs. Potts from Beauty and the Beast--aka: Angela Lansbury:

Perdy from 101 Dalmatians:

Minnie Mouse--she is too cute:

As we headed into the ride, it was kind of set up like Planet Hollywood where there was lots of movie memorabilia all over the place. Like this merry-go-round horse from Mary Poppins:

The ride was fabulous. It took us through many different genres of movies, which I loved. But the best part was there were two full rooms dedicated to Mary Poppins and Wizard of Oz! I was so pleased and happy to be in the midst of two of the greatest movies of all time! Love!

After that ride, I finally convinced Camie and Kirby that they just HAD to ride the Tower of Terror! Jamie's tummy wasn't feeling well, so I conned him into seeing the Beauty and the Beast while the others rode the thrill ride.

Tower of Terror:

Beauty and the Beast:

Best show ever!!

After a while, we met up and got a couple snacks. Icees for everyone! And Jamie's icee was in an R2-D2 mug. He was lovin' it. Little did we know, a Pixar parade was right around the corner, so we grabbed a prime spot to watch the whole show.

This was where I saw my first and most impressive Disney world hiss-out. Of course, there are all these rules of where you can stand, and we were in the "emergency exit" area for any parade walkers who needed to exit immediately. Well, the Disney worker politely asked this gentleman--my age-ish--to please move to one side or the other to leave a space for the walkway. He looses his mind and screams in a New York accent, "Holy crap! I spend $15 million dollars at frikkin' Disney World and all everyone does here is bust my balls!!!" I--like a child--start to giggle and laugh at his ridiculous reaction. People start to lose their minds a little bit at Disney World. They're hot. Tired. Cranky. Sick of sweating. Sick of crowds. The ugly really comes roaring out like a lion! But it brings great entertainment to moi!

On to the parade!!!

The Incredibles:

A Bug's Life:

Ratatouille:

Monsters Inc.:

Did you all know that Monster's Inc. 2 is coming out next year? I'm stoked!

UP!:

Toy Story:

Something was wrong with Jessi and her horse.

It was a fabulous little parade, and I was a happy camper--as always at Disney World.

After the parade, we were all hot and a little sleepers, so we headed back to our resort. Speaking of our fabulous resort--Disney's Art of Animation--here are a few pictures of where we stayed.

Me and the cute sea horse at the pool:

This pool was awesome!

We stayed in this building--by Mr. Ray:

After pool time, it was nap time. We headed to dinner later that night, but that'll be a later post. Probably tomorrow :) Until then, I hope you are all vicariously living through my vacation and can almost feel the excitement that I felt last week! If there are any huge Disney fans out there (particularly Megan and my Big), we should go sometime and do it big! It'll happen one day.

Anyways, I'm out. Gotta go to work. Love y'all!
