I am now back from my fabulous weekend in Houston. And it was just that. Fabulous .
I got into H-Town around 6:30 ish Friday night and finally got to hug my seester, Angela and brother-in-law, Jon. I hadn't seen them since my Grandma's funeral in December. It's wrong not to see your family in almost a year.
That night, we ate at this super delish Italian restaurant and I ordered a calzone with buffalo mozzarella, some sort of Italian meat and ricotta. Oh my yum. So good! After that, we nommed on some froyo at Swirl, went to Kroger and hung out at the house watching Modern Family.
By the way, I had never seen Modern Family before and I am so adding that to my top favorite show list!
Saturday morning, Angela and I had breakfast with my sweet friend Elise:
After breakfast, we picked up Jon and headed out to the outlet mall. He was not thrilled to go on a shopping spree but he's a good hubbers and BIL that he just wanted to spend time with us :) Right, Jon?
Angela ended up buying this cute wrap-around sweater thing and a baby outfit for a friend of theirs. And I bought a casual gray pencil skirt which I wore to church yesterday.
We were also doubled over laughing at this shirt:
Okay, I was the only one dying laughing! But that is so my kind of humor! Love it!
I liked this one too:
If it came in adult sizes, Jamie would be the proud owner of a "stinker" shirt.
After we shopped, we came home to watch the OSU/UT game (GO POKES!!!) and play with my nephew Big Bird:
Big Bird loves me. We snuggled and he purred and we have bonded already :) Love this little guy:
Saturday evening, we had big plans. Angela bought us tickets a few months ago for the Idina Menzel concert, and I was beyond stoked about it!
We got all gussied up and headed out:
Okay, J/K on the pearl neck tie. Only the people in my family will look at that and immediately know what that is and where it came from. It's actually my Grandma Bonnie's necklace/neck tie. She got it for my mom years ago....any of you know my mama? She'd NEVER wear that! And was an immediate re-gifting back to my sweet Grandma. She ended up wearing it all the time and claiming she got boo-koos of compliments :) We're still rockin' it for you, Grandma!
If you've never heard of Idina before, then shame on you! Here is this brilliant lady singing Defying Gravity from Wicked. Enjoy:
Love her.
We then headed to Reef for dinner before the show.
Here's my cute sister and her hubs:
This is the picture I asked a lady to take of the three of us:
Thanks, sister! Way to get the restaurant sign in the picture...
OH! And Jon wanted me to inform the blog world that he was not in attendance at the show. He dressed up for dinner but it was most definitely a sister-sister night :) Happy, Jon?!
Here's a better one of Angela and I after the show:
That pink dress right there is actually my prom dress :) Yes, I wore it to my 2005 senior prom and I'm still rocking it six years later. That's how I roll.
Sunday morning, we rolled outa bed and headed to church for Big Church and Sunday School. (PS--a true Baptist will always say "Big church" and "Sunday School" no matter what they call them now). We nommed on some Mexican food for lunch and then we headed back home to say our goodbyes.

I LOVE the pearl neck-tie!!! I think it's actually really classy and hip, all tied (pun intended) into one. ;P
