iPhone Pics

Now that I'm finally settled in this cute, little apartment in this fun, little city, I have yet to make friends, but I sure have taken a lot of pointless pictures. So here's my last couple of weeks in the form of iPhone pictures.

Like this roasted chicken:

I had never made roasted chicken before, but it was pretty good. I was nervous that I'd give me and Jamie salmonella or something crazy from not cooking it through all the way, but it was surprisingly delicious! We ate it one night and then I used the rest of the chicken to put in poppyseed chicken--one of our favorites!

Jamie actually told me about this stuff, and it was such a tasty-delight to my tongue! It was gooey and messy and yummerific! It's a great dessert for you and your honey to share while watching lots and lots of SVU....not that we do that all the time...

I got the crud last week and I'm slowly recovering. So I drank lots of OJ, that Theraflu is gone and I made myself some homemade soup. Eating/drinking soup when you've got the crud just warms the heart instantly. Love me some good soup.

We celebrated our first Syrup Saturday here in Lafayette this past Saturday. And a great morning that was. I went the lazy route and used Hungry Jack baking mix. Why haven't I ever bought that stuff before! Holy deliciousness, Batman! Yum!

I went to the Lafayette DMV yesterday but needed $21.50 in cash, so naturally I just had to go to Walgreens and get myself a fresh bottle of Sally's "Pat on the Black" and got a little cash-back action at the register. Brilliant, huh?

Speaking of the DMV. Would you believe that I was in and out of there in less than six minutes. True story. Last year, when we moved to Memphis, I went to the Memphis DMV four times.FOUR TIMES!!! I really dislike talking to unintelligent people who wake up every morning thriving on the fact that they're going to jack with you! Before losing my religion over my frustration with the Memphis DMV, I'll continue to praise the one here in Lafayette. Good for you, Lafayette DMV. Your efficiency and kindness is outstanding!

I mean...canned pumpkin. I finally found canned pumpkin! Fall can finally begin! I actually found canned pumpkin at Fresh Market last week for $2.50 each. Organic, of course. Yipes! So, I bought three cans. I just had to have it, okay!? Our Target finally started carrying the cheaper stuff, so I bought three more cans.

Within minutes of getting home from Target, I whipped up a fabulous batch of pumpkin chocolate chip muffins and have eaten not one, but two, muffins. Yummy in my very full tummy!

By the way, thank you all so much for your prayers in this time of transition for us. I'm not used to moving and we've moved twice in less than two years. New friends. New church. New jobs. New home. New life. It's not easy and it's not my favorite, but I'm adjusting. I trust the Lord has us here for a reason, just like he had us in Memphis for a reason. More on all of what I'm feeling later, but I just wanted to give a big thank you to those who have prayed for us.
