Weekend Trip to T-Town

I just had the best weekend ever. I saw some of my most favorite people in the world and just had a blast.

Just look at this look of excitement just moments before I left Memphis:
Here's what I did to start off my perfect weekend...

I hung out with this lady:
Yeah, uh huh. That's my bestie. Her name is Megan and you probably haven't seen her on the blog in a while because I haven't seen her since THANKSGIVING 2010!!! Yeah, that's like ten months ago. Too long for BFF's to be away from each other.

Megan is in PA school at Harding in Searcy, AR and goes to Tulsa every weekend to see her husband and family since they're moving there shortly. Well, I asked if I could meet her in Searcy and ride the rest of the way with her to Tulsa, and it all worked out. That meant that we had like nine-ish hours all together to talk, catch up, solve all of life's problems, laugh, and just enjoy each other's company. It was utter bliss.

There truly is something special about a best friend. And I'm so glad Megan's mine. She's always been there for me and is one of the most loyal friend's I know. I love her dearly and most certainly consider her a sister. Love you, Megan!

Friday evening, my parents and I went to Shogun for dinner and it was just oh-so-delicious! I got the Seafood Special and it was just heaven to my tongue. I've been to lots of Hibachi places, but nothing compares to Shogun in Tulsa. Da bomb.

Saturday, I woke up and got the morning started with a nice long walk in my parents' neighborhood. I love that neighborhood. So many hills. Gorgeous, unique homes. Cool and crisp "almost Fall" air. Quiet. Lots of trees. I just love their little 'hood.

Then, my mama and I had breakfast at BBD II, and I'm a bad blogger and forgot to get a picture with her :( So sowwy, Biggity Big Face. Next time! We had a blasty blast though and she is always a face I want to see when I'm in Tulsa.

After that, my mom and I got the inevitable mother-daughter pedicure. Oh. And I got my bushy brows waxed. My tootsies are now this great plum/wine/red/fuschia color. Yes, I realize I got a pedi a little more than a week ago. Yes, I'm getting another pedi AND mani with my friend Jenny this Wednesday. No, I don't care. I could get one daily if my bank account allowed. Jamie thinks it's silly how much I love getting my feetsies pampered, but he just has no idea what he's missing!

Then we met my Dooda for lunch and here is our boat o' sushi:
We went to some place on the Riverwalk in Jenks...eh. It was okay. Nothing beats In The Raw sushi though. Shame on me for going elsewhere.

That night, we planned on going to the OSU/TU game, so knew I needed to rest up since the kick off was at 9:10 in the PM! Ridiculous! I'm usually in my pajams ready to call it a night at 9:10. Yeeps. Lulu and I crashed hard for about an hour and a half. Praise for naps.

Then it was game time! My mom's good friend from college came with us and we dined on BBQ beforehand and then headed to the game where we had awesome seats! Sixth row, right behind our Cowboys, to be exact.

Me, my mama, and Gaile:
We were in mid-laugh because Gaile was worried that her face would take up the whole picture. She's such a funny mess :)

Look how close we were!:
I promise, that pic's taken without a zoom.

And then the weirdest thing happened. They played the National Anthem and it was almost kickoff. Then, on the big screen, it said something like we all need to take cover under ground or in our cars because of inclement weather. What the hey!? We thought it was just a nice suggestion and then people started yelling at everyone to move.

So, we made it underneath the stands and it started POURING!!! Huge rain! And OOGLES of lightening. Lo and behold, this was the beginning of a three hour delay with rain and lightening bolts.

So, we all put on our ponchos and raincoats...and trash bags (daddy) and were ready to tackle the rain if need be:
PS--check out the blonde hair on the right. No joke. This woman's hair was probably 5 ish inches high. If she were to get struck by lightening, it wouldn't have touched her head. Just diffused that cray cray hair!

Yes, my dad's "poncho" was a trash bag, thanks to my mom who packed it for him:
We were then forced to go into the TU basketball arena to wait out the storm:
IT WAS A MAD HOUSE!!!
I mean, look at this place:
After a few minutes, the OSU band took over and started playing:
TU fans were rather ticked, but we were in their house. They should have taken over a long time ago! But it was hilarious. Everyone was singing and dancing to the drum line, and then the WHOLE band started playing! It was like a big pre game in there.
On the TV screens, they switched back and forth from the OU/FSU game and the weather. They weather guys kept saying, "20 more minutes...20 more minutes...20...more...minutes".
Two ish hours later, we called it quits and left. Even if the storm passed, it'd still be sopping wet. So, we bailed around 11:30 ish and I was not too broken hearted at all. I was ready for B-E-D. Lo and behold, kick off ended up being around midnight and the game lasted until about 3:30 in the morning. Ridonkulous! But hey! At least OSU won! GO POKES!!!

Sunday morning, my parents left for Hawaii. Lame. I know. But if anyone deserves a nice, tropical vacation, they certainly do! They earn every second of vacation time they take :)

While they were flying to paradise (with Dog the Bounty Hunter on their flight, by the way), I had breakfast with two of my favorites from college, Hayley and Karen:
These girls are Chi Omegas and we're all in the same pledge class. I adore these two to pieces and was so grateful for this time to catch up with them. Hayley just got married this past June and Karen just found out that she's going to be a mommy in April! So excited for her and pray for a perfect pregnancy and a healthy baby Smith! Love you both more than you know and am so blessed to have you in my life :)

Leia pictures...of course...
Being cute, nomming on a bone:
Aaaaand licking my leg:
She's a big licker.

Megan and I drove to Searcy yesterday afternoon and I headed on to Memphis. I got a smidge lost and ended up making a big circle and adding about a half hour to my travel time. Super cruddy. Got home around 11:30 at night and immediately took a bubble bath. There's always time for one of those.

I woke up and hit the ground running this morning. To the bathroom, that is. I had to pee like a racehorse and look at the little creature that greeted me when I reached for TP:
Dead daddy long legs.

Spiders, when will you understand that your survival rate is 0 for 0 in the Schoenthaler home?! Gosh, I hate them. So much.

Well, I'm outa here. I'm about to watch a move with my goggy and relax before calling it a night.

Love you guys and I hope you have a marvy Monday.

Here is a video of the OSU dominating the TU basketball arena while we were "taking cover" from the storm. I just noticed the girl at the bottom of the screen dancing to the music. Too funny!
