You Are For Me

Have you ever been in state of loss? Confusion? Loneliness? Wonder?

I think at least one point in our lives, we've all felt one of those emotions, where we think, "God? Where are you?"

God works in mysterious ways. Ways in which we will never understand. But He has promised us one thing we know to be true: Never will he leave us nor forsake us (Deuteronomy 31:6; Hebrews 13:5) Here is some more scripture leading to that truth as well.

I've been listening to LifeChurch.tv sermons a lot this summer and Pastor Craig has said several times that our prayer lives need to get more interesting. More serious. More in depth. More meaningful. Give God something to work with. So often we simply pray, "God, please be with me today". But guess what?! He has already promised never to leave or forsake us! He's always with us! He's not going anywhere! So why do we continue to minimize His power? I don't know why.

This song came as such an encouragement to me last week when I found it. It's a song by Kari Jobe called "You Are For Me" and it is a simple promise that we serve an always-loving and forever-faithful God who will never leave us. Never abandon us. He is faithful and true and righteous and sovereign. Praise You, Jesus, for your unconditional love.

Please take a few minutes to listen to this song and read the lyrics here. Close your eyes and just attempt to feel the love of God embracing your heart and soul.

And friends, if you do not know the Lord, if you do not have the love of Christ in your heart, if you have never accepted Him as your personal Lord and Savior, the time is now. Fall on your knees and pray for salvation through Christ. If I can help you do that, please oh please contact me. A life with Christ is eternal life in Heaven with Him. Pray about it and make a decision. Today. Now.

I also want to ask you prayer warriors out there to pray for my sweet friend Amanda. Amanda just lost her sweet mama on Sunday morning and she is now dancing with angels. Praise God that she was a believer and is alive and well in Heaven. Amanda was also in a terrible car accident a little over a week ago, so I know that their family is still recovering from that. I just ask that you take a few moments today to think about Amanda and her family. They are a God-fearing, God-loving family who trusts in His provision for their lives. Pray that they feel His love and comfort surrounding them during this tough time. Thank y'all so much :)

Love you guys and pray you have a blessed day.

  1. Lovely song. So sad about Amanda's mom. Was she also involved in her car wreck? Prayers for her family!

  2. No, Amanda was alone in the wreck. I'm not 100% sure what happened to her mom though. Thank you for your prayers. :)
