Making Messes

I've been packing this week and I think I'm making messes rather than cleaning things up...

I mean really. My house is a total WRECK!

The great thing is that I've already got a huge Goodwill pile ready to go and it's growing by the day! Here's what I collected Monday morning:
I have a plethora of mugs that I just don't need/use. I've kept all the cute ones, but I'm getting rid of probably half of them. We have a bajillion plastic cups that would love to live in someone else's home. The coffee maker...we've used once and ended up tossing the coffee. Jamie and I aren't big coffee drinkers. I only registered for it in case we have guests who drink coffee. So far, our guests have never asked for coffee and the ones who do drink it get it at the 'bucks. See ya, coffee maker. I'm also getting rid of the cookie jar. I LOVE that thing, but it is mildly useless. I vividly remember registering for it because I loved it so much, but I've used it twice and it was more annoying than anything...I'm sorry to see you go, Miss Cookie Jar.

Not pictured in the Goodwill pile is an apron, a couple more kitchen items, a few sheets, pull-out plastic drawers and some more j-u-n-k. It'll be a happy day to drop that stuff off at the end of the week as my pile grows.

Monday, I shinnied up into the attic (my least favorite thing ever) and pulled down ALL of the holiday decorations and most of the boxes that I saved from our last move last year.

This is my "Go to storage" pile:
Can you spot my favorite decor?....
I think instead of putting my Fall/Halloween stuff in storage when we move, it'll go straight into the apartment to begin decorating for the best season EVER!

I've made two different sections in the garage. 1: Apartment. 2: Storage. Since we are transitioning to apartment living, we are obviously downsizing in square feet, so some stuff has got to go. Hence the Goodwill pile and the storage talk.

Here's my "Go into the Apartment" pile:
So far, so good. It's all working well and I feel pretty accomplished :)

I made many a trip up and down these stairs:
At one point when I was up in the attic, I had a minor panic moment thinking that the stairs would shut on me, the lights would go out and the spiders would invade! After that minor/major panic, I began taking my phone up there with me....just in case.

I don't have a vivid/worrisome imagination...no...not at all...

Almost-empty attic. This is where I kept all the boxes all year:
I sat at the top of the stairs and just chunked the boxes down. Leia was not a fan of this method:
So, that's what I've been doing all week. Packing. No, we are not doing the BIG move this weekend, but we are making a trip down. Jamie starts his new job next week down in Lafayette, so we're moving a bed, a couch, Jamie's clothes, a TV, the computer, and a few randoms to the new home. I'll stay there for a few days then head back up to Memphis. The BIG move will be at the end of September and that weekend cannot come soon enough. I'm just ready to be settled. I am not a fan of waiting in limbo.

Welp. I'm off. We've got someone coming to the house at 11:30 and my house is in complete disarray! Gotta get my butt in gear and start cleaning up the huge messes I've made!

Love you all!
