Coco Cay on Tuesday

Tuesday, July 26th, 2011: Coco Cay Island

Tuesday morning, I woke up refreshed and ready for a day on Coco Cay Island, Royal Caribbean's private island. This was the only stop we made excursion plans and I was really excited! I'm not too huge into just laying out all day because I get bored, so I knew this stop would be really fun!

We woke up and headed to the gym. Not a bad view huh?:
Yeah, I think I could stay on a treadmill for days if I were looking at an ocean :) But watching The Bachelorette Finale tonight on the treadmill is a close second.

After the gym, we ate breakfast. My typical breakfast on the cruise included: oatmeal, fruit, a nanner with peanut butter and maybe a pancake...I changed it up each day.

Then we got on the little boat to take us to the island. Here we are floating away:
Kirby, soaking in the view:
Abby, soooo stoked about the excursions:
Hi, Family!:
There's our ship in all its glory:
Hammocks...why didn't I lay in one? I'll never know:
When we got on the island, we did a yoga class on the beach. Holy hot yoga! It was blazing! My clothes were drenched and I had sweat rolling in my eyeballs and there were baby crabs crawling all over my towel/yoga mat and oh mylanta...it was just fiery hot!! But we survived!

After our yoga class, we found a spot on the beach to place our stuff. Kirby and I ventured out into the ocean to cool off. It was so nice just to wade in the water. I miss the ocean already.

At 11:00, our kayak trip began. We got all set with our lifejackets and paddles and boats and headed off. Kim was my kayak buddy, while Kirby and Camie rode in a boat together. I LOVE kayaking. Last time I went was at Kamp several years ago (Jamie says Kanakuk trips don't count...they do!), and I just remember loving the kayak classes. It's relaxing and peaceful and fun all at the same time. So I loved that!

The whole trip was probably a little over an hour...maybe an hour and a half? Either way, we were starving and headed to the beach buffet for some grub!

At lunch, I nommed on fruit, salad and a burger. Yummo in my tummo.

Kirb, Cam and I after lunch:
Diet Coke in Corona glasses. Yessss!:
Mama, this one's for you:
Caylana!!! That's you!

After lunch, Kim, Kirby and I got our snorkel gear and set off for the ocean to find some fishes:
We didn't find much until we saw a few stingray!!! So flip-flapping cool to see them just swimming around the ocean floor. Very beautiful creatures. But we really didn't see much other than that and many sponges.

When our snorkeling adventure was over, we decided it was high time to come back on the boat to get ready for our evening.

Another view of the Monarch of the Sea:
They were tuckered out:
We got ready for the evening. It was "Formal Night" and we got all gussied up for the evening:
Now a picture with "The Skinny Arm":
Kim thought it was called the "Sorority Pose" but I told her that the skinny arm is all the rage! if you are on the end of a group photo or if you're just posing with another friend, rock the skinny arm because...well...it makes your arm look skinny :) Duh!

Camie and Kirby at dinner:
Kim and I at dinner:
When dinner was over, we did the obligatory meandering around the ship to enjoy the sunset and the ocean.

Cam and I:
SIL's with the sunset:
Oops! I forgot the skinny arm! Way to rock it, Camie!

Reading my book on the ship with this view:
Not too shabby.

Our first towel animal:
Mr. Elephant!

As Camie, Kim and I were thinking about heading to bed, Kirby ventured out to his home away from home on the cruise:
The Casino!!!

Kim, if only you could have brought good luck to your baby boy in that casino...:
Day 2...done and done! I loved being on the water, I loved being in the water! Kayaking was a blast and snorkeling was pretty super! Dinner that night was spectacular and sea-foody and the weather was spectacular!

Hang on til tomorrow and see what we did on Wednesday!

Love to you all!
