Wednesday, July 27, 2011: Nassau
Welcome to Day 3 of my first cruisin' adventure! Now can you see why I'm breaking it up into days? Lots of pics. Lots goin' on. Let's begin.
Woke up Wednesday and worked out like we did every other day. Except this morning, we did some classes. Kim and I did a stretching class and right after that, Kirby and I did an abs class. Wooo buddy! That was a tough one! But it felt great! After that, we all grabbed breakfast and then Camie and I walked outside on the deck. It was gorgeous out and we had already docked in Nassau. Cute little city.
After out little walk, Kirb headed back to B-E-D while the gals went poolside to read and soak up some rays. I was so focused on my book that before I knew it, it was already noon ish. Kirby was hungry. We were all a little hungry. So we put some cover-ups on and headed out.
Cam and I in the room before leaving the ship:
Monarch of the Seas...the giant anchor:
This boat was huge, I tell ya!:
Kim, mimicking "The Skinny Arm":
You know you love it!
This guy was a trip! He was dancing and singing and trying to get all of the tourists' attention for some reason. Not sure if he wanted to take people on a ride or what, but I sure as heck wasn't getting on that thing:
All of the ships lined up. There were 4:
Lunch at SeƱor Frogs:
Always entertaining!
This was the ceiling decor:

I'm thinking I've got to get me some of these for our new home in Louisiana. I think it'd look good there, no?
Sexy huh?
Kim ordered some Conch Salad which reminded me of ceviche. They brought out the whole conch shell and showed us how they took it out. It was rather bruthal! And here is the conch:
I tried it after it was all mixed up and it was a little chewy and rubbery. Kind of tasty...Kim, I'm glad you liked it :) Camie and I nommed on fish tacos, while Kirbo ate 2, yes 2, entrees! He had a whole barrel of chicken wings and fries and something else...I forgot. Maybe something Mexican ish? I don't know. It was a lot of food!
Us with the frog:
After lunch, we headed into the market. The wildly overwhelming market:
It was a gigantic warehouse type place with rows and rows and rows that looked just like that! I was holding onto my purse like I had Leia stashed it in. It was so crammed and hot and intimidating! There are all of these people selling the same junk and they're all trying to make deals with you! Ahhhh! Too many people!!! Overstimulating! I had to get outa there!
We walked into a lot of stores! In one of the stores, I found a little license plate with my name on it, spelled correctly and everything! Then Kirby found one and said, "Hey, I found Jamie's":
Nice, Kirb.
It was funny.
Kirby bought a shirt or two, Camie got a dress, a bracelet, and a few more things, and I ended up with a shirt for me, a shirt for Jamie and a little sundress. Victory!
Kim bought a coconut:
Me and Kirby:
Cam and I in front of the ships:
After several hours of shopping and walking around that cute little town, we headed back on the ship. We all showered and got ready for the night. Instead of our normal dining room dinner, we went to Jade (I think?) for sushi. Yum. I got a rainbow roll and a crab and shrimp salad. I took a picture of it, because it was too cute not to take a picture:
AND it was delicious!
Kirby ordered a steak that he had to cook on a hot lava rock! It was pretty crazy and took him a good 20 minutes to cook :) Kirby, I see a future for you on Food Network. Forget football! Here's Kirb and his manly lava rock meal:
Dinner pics!!
Camie and Kim:
Kirby and your's truly:
After dinner, we walked around the ship and looked in the shops and also enjoyed some Ben and Jerry's ice cream. Yes, there was a Ben and Jerry's on the ship. Ooo delish!
Before the sun went down, I rushed outside to take pictures of Nassau and Atlantis. I had to capture the scenic picture:
I loved all the little buildings with cute colors:
I could go back for sure. Cute little town with some great shopping:
Atlantis:
Never been, but I'd love to go sometime!
Apparently the rooms in the archway are where big celebs like Oprah and Michael Jordan stay. I don't foresee my grand salary allowing me to stay there anytime soon. Unless I make it big teaching pre-k. Another Atlantis view:
Gorgeous sunset:
More beautimous sunset:
After I took a few sunset pictures, we headed inside for the comedy and magician act. It was pretty hilarious! He was really funny and only mildly inappropriate.
Camie really wanted to be in the show, but when you sit in the balcony...it makes volunteering a little tough:
I would have chosen you, Cam!
That was the end of Wednesday. It was another fabulous day and I am still so grateful for the opportunity to go on such a great trip.
Stick around tomorrow to see pics from our final day on sea.
