A T-Town Wedding

I've already been having a ball while here in T-Town. I woke up at the crack of dawn on Friday morning and got ready to make my 9 hour drive to Tulsa, OK.

You want to see what all I brought? Sure you do!

Here's the gigantic mess of stuff that I brought:

  • 1 bag of workout clothes, PJs and undergarments
  • 1 bag of movies/lap top/DVD player--I listen to movies in the car to keep my attention on the drive. Music only goes so far, so I love listening to movies in the car :)
  • 1 bag of shoes
  • 1 bag of clothes
  • 1 small bag of Leia's stuff--food, bones, leash, etc
  • Leia's bed
  • B-day gift for my mama
  • Wedding gift for Camie and Darrin
Whew! I'm exhausted just thinking about what all I brought. But honestly, I'm bringing and appropriate amount of clothes. One workout outfit and one normal outfit per day. Shoes for each outfit. I'm here for 10 days, so all of these bags full of stuff is totally necessary, right? Right.

Friday afternoon, I got in to Tulsa around 3:45 and was thrilled to be on my feet and out of the car. Leia was a happy camper too. The drive wasn't bad at all, but it sure is a long 9 hours. The second I crossed the OK border, I looked for a Braums so that I could stop for lunch. Lunch included a twist frozen yogurt dip cone. It's my favorite ice cream in the world. Yum.

Friday night, we went to a rehearsal dinner for my sister's friend, Andrea. Angela and Andrea have been friends since they were little girls, and Angela was a bridesmaid in the wedding.

The rehearsal dinner was at The Broadway--a really neat and retro event center in Downtown Tulsa.

Here is my cute family at the rehearsal dinner:

Jon, Angela, my Dooda, Mama and Me!

The food was yummy, the toasts were sweet, the friends and family were all lovely--it was just a great evening!

On Saturday, we all woke up and just moseyed around the house for a while before Angela had to head to the hotel to get ready for the wedding. Yesterday afternoon, I met my bestie Megan at her house and we sipped on some Starbucks beverages, walked around Utica Square for a bit and then headed to Brookside to check out this fabulous store called Ida Red. It had a WALL of TOMS!!! I die! I wanted one of each color. I think my parents and I are going to head back that way again this week to replenish my TOMS collection :) Ida Red also has a ton of cute Oklahoma and Tulsa t-shirts. Love. I got me a cute shirt while I'll show you in a bit.

By the way, did you know that Tulsa is no longer just a 918 area code? I saw this shirt that said something like, "I'm fine with the 539" or something...Tulsa has another area code! I'm not okay with that! It's just weird that another area code was added to this area. 918 forever!!

So yesterday evening, we headed to Sharp Chapel at the University of Tulsa for the wedding, and it was quite lovely! Great singing, beautiful bride, beautiful bridesmaids and a fun little reunion with sweet friends.

Including this lovely, Mallory:

Sweet Mallory just got married three weeks ago. She's just a beauty:

Andrea and her hubby, Ofir:

I'm so mad at myself for not taking more pictures last night, especially my pretty sister in her dress but...oh well. Whoops.

Here's my cute new Oklahoma shirt:

If you can't read it, it says, "It's not all cowboys and indians". Love it. Megan and I bought the same shirt, because that's what besties do :)

This morning, I woke up, made myself some breakfast and headed to church to hear my dad teach his lesson in Sunday School. It was SOO good to see all of this friends in that Sunday School  class. I've missed seeing familiar faces, so it was refreshing to get that today.

Also, I have greatly missed good Bible teaching. We have yet to find a really good church in Lafayette where the pastor has really sound and biblical teaching, so I was anxious to hear my dad speak this morning. I realize that being a Bible teacher is tough, but I didn't think we'd be living in Lafayette for  9 months and still be without a really great church. Dang.

We all dined at Charleston's (one of my favorites!!) for lunch and then Jon and Angela had to go to the airport. Sad. I am now blogging in bed with Lulu sleeping under the sheets with me, and about to take a snooze myself. I love Sunday naps. This afternoon, my dooda and I are heading to the gym and we'll probably just relax at home since the past few nights have been rather busy!

I'll catch you up throughout the week with my Tulsa adventures, so stay tuned!

Tulsa friends, I'd love to see you!! Call/text/facebook/e-mail me if you'd like to get together, because I'd truly love to see as many sweet faces as I can this week!

Love you guys!
