Last Tuesday was another good day at home in Tulsa. I woke up (whenever I wanted). I ate some breakfast. And then...I took a nap. Gosh, I love vacation.
I took Lulu to my parents studio to meet the new gals who work there, and then I finally headed to the gym. It was a pretty lame workout because if I don't get my workouts done in the morning, then they're pretty awful if they even happen later in the day. I met my mama for late lunch at Waterfront Grill in Jenks, and then we headed to Brookside to shop for TOMS at Ida Red's.
I wear a size 6 in regular Toms. A size 6.5 in Toms wedges. And a 7 in the newer stripy wedges.
Just to let you know.
Moving on. My mom went TOMS CRAZY and ended up with I think 4 or 5 pair!!! We were going to get my dad a pair of Toms for Father's Day coming up, but we couldn't figure out which ones he didn't have already that weren't totally out of his element. That's how many he has. You know you have a lot of Toms when you can't figure out which ones you've got. Yikes, Dooda!
I ended up with these cuties:
My mom got the same pair as well. Matchy matchy mama daughter Toms!
I also got this pair of sexiness:
Those are officially the most comfortable wedges I own! They're outstanding! I wore them all afternoon/evening on Wednesday and didn't even remember I had on heels. LOVE! I think I should own a pair in every color. That's a good goal in life, right?
Moving on to Tuesday evening. Megan--my bestie--and I have been planning for a few months now to get together and watch old pom videos. So that is exactly what we did. I had the bright idea to bring my Lulu Bear to her house to make friends with her wienie dog, Howie. When they were both little puppies, they LOVED each other and played hard together! Well...that was hardly the case this go-round. They showed their teeth and mean-barked at each other. Megan and I had to hold our dogs at opposite ends of the couch. It was rather ridiculous.
Don't let their cuteness in this picture mislead you:
We really do have the most precious puppies in the world! Maybe they're upset with us because we had their "friendly parts" removed and that's why they're acting ugly to each other. Who knows.
I love both of these faces so very dearly:
Besides keeping our puppy gogs from killing each other, we had a ball watching out old pom videos. Jamie kept saying that I was a hondo (stuck in high school), but I SO loved my pom days at Jenks! Those years are filled with great memories.
We watched our Senior year video and had some HUGE laughs! So stinkin' funny! We also watched a few of the really good routines from our nationals DVD our junior and senior year of high school. I'd love to go back to nationals and see what the poms look like now. I'm sure they're more advanced and technical than we were. Okay...I might be a hondo.
It was such a fun evening and I so loved catching up with Megan. There aren't may friends you can hang out with where you show up at their home, cuddle up on the couch, and pick back up where you left off. That's what I love about our friendship. I see this lady may twice a year, but our friendship is so strong and I am forever thankful that she's in my life.
Love you Megan!
Mama Update: My mom is feeling MUCH better today. She was in a painful mess last night, but today the paid subsided quite a bit. However, the pain meds she is taking is causing her to be super nauseated. She's super sick to her tummy, and just doesn't feel well at all. Be praying that the icky tummy goes away. With help from a physical therapist, she used a walker and walked up and down the hallway. Yay! I'm proud of her for being so strong. She goes home tomorrow, so please be praying that she has a quick recovery. I'm thankful for my Dooda who has been there every step of the way for her. Love you, Dooda! Thanks for taking care of my mamacita!
Alrighty, I'm actually watching The Thunder game...for those of you who know me, that's huge! I'm not a sports person at all, but I've actually clapped and cheered while watching this game! My mother would be proud. Thunder Up!
I love each of you!
