Hidey Ho, everybody!
I love Mondays. You know why? It's pretty much my only day off where I truly get to do what I want.
You know who gets to do what they want all the time?
This gal:
The top of the chair is her new "spot", and I think she thinks she's pretty sassy up there.
I think you are too, Lulu.
Christmas came early this year with a package from Kim, my sweet mother-in-law. Every year, even when Jamie and I were dating, she sends us goodies. This year, it included this:
Candy galore! Gobstoppers, nerds, rice crispy treats, pea and more! All Holiday themed, of course.
I also got these bad boys:
Reindeer toe socks! Yessss!!!
You know what else was a fun surprise to get in the mail? A gift from my Memphis bestie, Emily! She sent me a little birthday package and I was pretty stoked to get it!
Look how funny this card is:
She also got me this cute picture frame:
She got me this frame as well:
Friends are forever, indeed. In the picture is Holly, Me, Emily, (baby Black in stuffed monkey form), Phillip photo-bombing and Jenny! Some of my absolute FAVORITES from Memphis who I miss more than words can say! Come visit me! All of you!
And she got me these warm and fuzzy wuzzy socks which I am currently wearing:
She also got me my new favorite ornament:
This IS Leia! She is black with brown markings with a red collar! I. Love. It.
And it doesn't stop there! She got me this sweet light-up snow man ornament as well:
We are Memphis besties and I miss her more than anything! Thank you for my goodies, sweet Emily. I love you so much and hope to see you before you have that little baby boy!!
This year, I really debated decorating for Christmas. All of our Christmas stuff is in storage and it's just such a dang hassle to find it, dig it out, make a mess, load it in the car, haul it up the stairs, decorate, hide the boxes somewhere (there's no where to hide anything here) and then take it all down after the Holidays.
But then I got really depressed thinking about having ZERO Christmas decor in our apartment, so I decided that setting up the tree would more than suffice! The tree and one box of ornaments wasn't too hard to get to, so I went with that.
Opening up the ornaments made me a little sad, because there were a few wounded warriors that didn't survive post Christmas 2010.
Like this little guy:
Another ornament lost an arm. But that was something super glue fixed right up!
This guy too:
It's Slinky from Toy Story. He makes *boing* noises when you touch him. Yeah, he was a real treat to have in the car.
*Boing*
*Boing*
*Boing*
Praise Jesus all the lights still work!
All done!!!
Now, I could only find one box of ornaments. The important box. All of these ornaments are gifts and are unique and fun and different. Our first Christmas, I bought this scrawny Charlie Brown Christmas tree with plastic ornaments from Big Lots. Those are really good (and pretty) "filler" ornaments, but those'll have to wait until we move again and I can find them :)
Happy Christmas, everyone! Hope you're enjoying the Holidays thus far!
