A Week of Festivals

Rumor has it that festivals are ALL OVER Lafayette. We're talking every other weekend pretty much. I mentioned to my boss that Jamie and I were thinking about going to an Omelette festival this weekend and she said, "Oh gosh, there are festivals all the time here! There's practically a festival for people who have two arms and a head!" I think that's super fun :)

On Thursday for lunch, Jamie and I went to a Gumbo festival/cook-off. A few of Jamie's customers were cooking, so we went to eat and support them. We paid $5 and ate all the gumbo we wanted!
Believe it or not, I had never had gumbo before, so I tried seafood, chicken and sausage and duck gumbo. My fav: seafood gumbo. Delish. They were all really unique and different and yummy!

They even had a band there:
There were 100 ish different gumbos to try.
And karate guys...random:
Next week, there's a chili cook off/festival! I will certainly be in attendance for that! I LOVE chili!

Yesterday, my sister-in-law Camie came in town. We shopped around our area and ate at Prejean's for dinner. Yum-o-licious! We had boudin balls, alligator, catfish, white chocolate bread pudding, bananas foster cheesecake and more! Holy yumminess!

Today, Camie and I went on a long walk, ate chocolate chip pancakes and then headed to Abbeville for the Omelette Festival.
It goes on all weekend, and they even cook a 5,000+ egg omelette on Sunday afternoon. Jamie and I might just have to go back for that :) Too funny to pass up, don't cha think?!

Here's me and Camie at the festival:
We're twinkies!

They had lots of shopping there--stuff you'd see at Mayfest (all you Tulsa people). Lots of artwork, jewelry, kids' clothes and more. Camie and I got Omelette Festival shirts...I'll show you later. They're pretty fab.

Oh! And we saw this wreath hanging on a door in Abbeville:
How cute is that?!?! I think I'll "pin" it and pretend I did it myself. Dang...my secret's out!

This afternoon, Jamie hung out at the apartment with Lulu and Camie and I got pedicures. Perfection. Nothing beats a good ol' pedi.

We dined at Dean-o's for dinner and shared crawfish nachos and giant pizza. Delish.

Then...the inevitable...fro yo for dessert.

We just finished watching "Date Night" with Tina Fey and Steve Carell. Hi-larious! We definitely had some "LOL" moments :)

I'm exhausted beyond belief, so while the siblings are playing Mario Kart, I think I'm going to call it a night.

We'll talk to ya later, folks! Love love love!!!
