Valentine's Shoes

I have had a very good weekend. A VERY good weekend! It started off a little crappily because I got chewed out by a mom (for no really good reason at about 5:50 PM on Friday evening), but then I came home to some fun stuff!

First of all, my awesome hubs made dinner in the form of real baked potatoes. Yummmm! I love baked potatoes, especially when they're topped with salsa, cheese and A1 sauce (weird combo, but super tasty!). I complained about this mom who hurt my feelers, and my husband who acted as my best friend said, since you've had a bad day, do you want your Valentine's gift? DUH!

Here's what I found when I opened the package that came in the mail that day:
That's a really good thing to see!

I turned it around and saw this:
This was getting really exciting.

Then I opened the box and saw these babies:
Whoop whoop!!! You may read about my new Toms obsession here. Since I first learned about Toms in college, I've ALWAYS wanted the red ones? Why? Because red is my mostest favoritest color ever! I love love love love red :) Red Toms=delightful. THANK YOU, JAMIE!!!! YOU ARE THE MOST GREATEST HUBBERS IN THE WHOLE WORLD!!!!!

I wore them yesterday:
So...that was already a great start to a lovely weekend! But it doesn't end there!!!!

After we ate dinner and opened the Toms, we hung out in the "office/game room" and caught up on The Office. Around 8:00, I kept hearing noises outside and got nervous. For those of you who know me, I'm usually on edge about weird noises and bad guys and bad things happening! I know. I'm a spaz. But then we heard a slamming door. Footsteps. And our front door opened. Then there was a quick knock at the door. I freaked. Leia freaked. Jamie was calm. Go figure. He opened the door and the delivery guy had left and there was a large box with my name on it. Yessss! This was another good thing to see! Jamie got out a very manly knife and opened the box. To what to my wondering eyes should appear....

A Frye box:
I kind of immediately started screaming! And repeating, "What is this? What is this?"

I opened the box and found this sexy beasts:
At this point, I began squealing, "NO WAY! SHUT UP! NO WAY! SHUT UP!" I don't know who I was telling to shut up, but that was my reaction!

I follow The Pioneer Woman pretty regularly, and a few months ago, she was giving away 2 pair of Jane style Frye boots. I entered along with the other 40,00 people around the world, and oddly enough, I didn't win *enter sarcasm*. But for those of you who know me well, I go on kicks when there's something I want. I think I'll forever be on a Toms kick, but for the past few months, I've been on a serious Frye boots kick! I posted on my Facebook status that I've been lusting after those boots, and my mother-in-law (who should be a professional shopper), saw it and ordered them for me as a "just because"gift! She is the B-E-S-T BEST! Thank you Kim! Thank you thank you thank you!

I wore them to church this morning:
I expect you all to say, "Howdy, Abby" when you see me wearing these:

After living my whole life in Oklahoma and going to Oklahoma State for college, it's about dog-gone time I own some cowgirl boots! Thank you, Miss Kim!

All that to say, this mama who chewed me out on Friday has NOTHING on Toms and Frye boots! Take that, sucka!

Plus, it's a gorgeous day today. Bonus! I'm about to head outside to walk myself on a "real walk" and then take Leia on her version of a real walk :) Can't wait to enjoy God's stunning creation!

Jamie and I are celebrating Valentine's Day tonight with a Papa John's heart pizza and an apple pie thing :) Can't wait!

I hope you are all enjoying your weekends JUST as much as I am! Brother Steve really brought home the Message today and I encourage you all to check out Bellevue's website this week to hear what he had to say! There were quite a few "Amen's" in the crowd!

Love you guys! God bless!

  1. Enjoy your Frye boots! I've been wanting a pair, but can't make myself do it. My husband has a pair (obviously not like yours:) that he loves. If you want the history of the Frye brand, he can tell you all about it (all the way back to some war where they outfitted many, many soldiers).
