Tennesee Tag

I wish this was my new tag, but sadly...it is not

No longer will I be that diver with the Oklahoma license plate making people angry on the road! For the past few weeks that I've been here, I've been so nervous that I'll make a mistake on the road (which I've made many) and that people will give me dirty looks for being an Oklahoman in the wrong state! Well, now that I've got my new Tennessee license, my Memphis neighbors can get angry with one of their own!

So while I was at the Shelby County Clerk office to get my tag, I went from happy to flustered and red in about .3 seconds! I called earlier to find out what I needed to bring to get a new tag: my license, the title to my car and 2 proofs of residency. Done, done and done. I had all of those documents with me clipped together, nice and organized. So I get to the office and tell them what I need. The lady then tells me that I cannot get a tag, because my name is not on our proofs of residency (I brought in a couple bills with Jamie's name and our address). Well then, I thought I outsmarted her, because I brought my marriage license, because I knew we were going to have that problem. Then, the lady tells me that she doesn't care about the marriage license, because it's not my name on the bill! What the hay!? I told her I was married and that my husband's name is on all of our bills. She is still refusing to work with me. So I said, "So do I need to have Jamie come in here and let you know we are married and live in the same house and pay the same bills?" She said, "Well, no. Let's see what we can do." Ooo I was so heated right now! All that to say, she finally figured out that I own the house just as much as Jamie does and that she should give me a new tag because I was responsible and organized and had all of the appropriate documents...so I finally got a new daggum Tennessee tag! That is why people hate the government! Dumb rules... Tomorrow, I tackle the DMV to get a new drivers license. Pray for me. It'll be my 4th time there...don't ask.

This Week

This has been a pretty chill week. Don't mistake the word "chill" for the weather description. It has been anything but chilly here. We're talking 100+ degree weather. Ick! I've weeded the front and back flower beds, and tomorrow I plan on buying and planting flowers. Any tips? I'm not much of a gardener. So yeah...that's the plan. Maybe a pedicure Friday? I haven't had one in a couple months, and it's high time for my piggies to get pampered!

Today, I almost killed my dog. Love her, but I almost killed her. She found a baby bird that fell out of its nest in our backyard and just wanted to be pals. I'm sure that might work in those cute e-mails where lions are BFF with turtles, but with Leia, she's just to stinkin' aggressive. It just wouldn't work. So she's been barking at the back door to go play with her new friend for approximately 4 hours ish. And I'm not joking. After about 2 hours, I took her outside, holding her, to make sure the bird was gone. Leia spotted her and bursted out of my arms and ran after the cheeping feather ball. A good 20 minutes later, I catch Leia and bring her back inside. Much to her dismay. She is not happy with her mama.

I think if Leia got a hold of that bird, she'd chomp it just like she is to this bone!

If it rained all day tomorrow, I would be pleased. It would cool things off and make our yard look pretty :) Plus, I can fill out some more applications for a new J-O-B. Yay!

Whoever is reading this, you are awesome.
