The Bachelorette

Praise Jesus I found my husband in life...my life...not reality life! As much I love to sit in front of the TV with friends and watch reality TV and enjoy some mindless entertainment, it really does get me thinking about how grateful I am that Jesus put my sweet husband in my life in my own reality...not in TV reality.

Allie, you're precious! I hope and pray that you find the one the Jesus has chosen for you!

Although I'm sure it's fun and flirty and charming to have 25 men doting after you, I'm still glad I met Jamie the old fashioned way. We met at K-Life in Stillwater. We were both K-Life leaders--he lead 8th grade boys and I was with senior girls. I thought he was the cutest guy I had ever seen in my life, but he didn't know I existed...awesome, right? After about a week, or a month, or 2 or 5, Jamie finally noticed who I was and we began hanging out. But that's only because I didn't give up on him! He was and still is just that cute that I knew I wanted to get to know that handsome face much better! And I did! We began hanging out a lot. Going on car dates, ice cream dates, dinner dates, skipping class dates, lake dates, fishing dates...and just good old fashioned fun! He asked me to be his girlfriend on February 15th, 2008, asked me to marry him on September 25th, 2008 and we got married June 26th, 2009. I'm not perfect, he's not perfect, our marriage isn't perfect, but we sure to try to honor God in our marriage and all that we do and I think that is all that He wants from us! God is beyond great, and has blessed us with each other, so the least we can do is honor Him as husband and wife!

Anyway....all that to say, I love The Bachelor and The Bachelorette so much and it is fabulous entertainment, but I am SOOO glad I never had to go on a TV show to find love! Thank you, Jesus for allowing Jamie and I to find each other and fall in love accoring to Your good and holy will! Thank you for giving me and Jamie the strength to maintain our innocence before marriage. I'm so glad Jamie and I didn't go on 4 "Fantasy Suite" dates with 4 different guys and 4 different girls to find out if we're good for one another.

Basically, reality TV is all well and good, but it's not actual reality. What happens when the cameras are off? What happens when ABC isn't paying for a date around the world? What happens when you find out the guy you're dating has road rage; or the girl you're dating can't cook; or his/her friends don't like you? What happens then? Gosh, I'm just so happy that Jamie and I got to know each other on a real reality basis! It makes things much easier that way. Maybe not as glamourous, but definitely easier!

I wonder who Allie will choose? These are my top choices thus far: Chris L., Kirk and Roberto. They're the most casual and genuine. What are your thoughts? Who do you think she'll choose?

God bless!
