Happy First Anniversary!!!

On Saturday, June 26th, 2010, my cute husband and I celebrated our very first anniversary! Did a year seriously go by already? No way! I'm big on celebrating every "monthiversary", so when we got to our true blue one year anniversary, this was just awesome!

Of course our day started out with syrup Saturday. Every Saturday since we've been married, I've made a big fun breakfast, including either waffles, pancakes or french toast. It's just a fun thing that we look forward to, since we typically have boring/healthy breakfasts every other day of the week. so that was an excellent start to a perfect anniversary day!

I've been bugging Jamie for about the past 2 weeks to find out what we were doing for our big day and he beat around the bush and never told me what was going on. Friday night, I was RELENTLESS in asking him what we're doing, and he finally told me one thing. At 11:00 AM we were going to ThePeabodyHotel to watch the ducks waddle into the fountain. Ahh it was soo cute! It lasted a whole 5 seconds, but was well worth it! I'd gladly do it again!

Bad picture, but there were SOOO many people there! Who woulda thought there would be so many people to watch a few ducks waddle? Nothin' like a great tradition going strong. Maybe I'll start a tradition at our house where we watch Leia sprint down the back yard, trying her best at catching a bird. I think that would sell. Right?

I was obviously very excited about the cute little duckies!

After that, we headed to this restaurant called Eat Well...I think...for lunch. It was a really yummy Chinese buffet unlike any other! It had really good sushi and hibachi food! Oh man, it was good! It wasn't your typical fried junk (which is super yummy, by the way), but it was goooood food! So we stuffed ourselves there and then headed home...full bellies and all.

When we got home, we relaxes a little bit and watched a few PrisonBreak episodes. That's our new favorite series, ya know. I truly am emotionally invested in several of those characters! Man, it's a good show! Then we tried to work off our buffet food at the gym for a sweaty workout.

Here's where it gets really good. Jamie was really being a stickler at not telling me where we were going for dinner, so I knew it just HAD to be spectacular! And boy was it a perfect place for an anniversary dinner!

This is where we ate: Ruth's Chris Steak House. Oh. My. Steakness. So yummy! I had never heard of that restaurant until our honeymoon in Maui last year, and it was beyond incredible! I'm not big on ordering steak all the time, but that was truly the very best steak I ever had in my life! Great surprise, Jamie! A+!!

Here's what was on the menu for both of us: Jamie started off with a caesar salad. Then he had like a 16 oz filet that looked oh so delicioso! For his side, he wanted green beans for us to share. Then for dessert, he got the bread pudding. I started off with the lobster bisque (heck yes!!!) Then for my entre, I got 3 yummy shrimpies and a 6 oz filet, cooked to perfection! For my side for us to share, I got the potatoes au gratin (my fav!). For dessert, I got the special...and it didn't include chocolate! Shocking, right? It was a yummy-in-my-tummy banana cream pie! I wanted to take pictures of every course, but didn't want to look like "that girl". Jamie told me to act like I've been there before. I just wanted to document the tastiness that entered my mouth that evening...but I didn't :(

We are happy happy happy with such yummy food in our tummies!

Post dinner picture with the pooch (talking about my full tummy and the dog of course) I haven't quite mastered the timer picture on my camera...I gotta work on it.

All in all, it was the PERFECT day with my PERFECT man! I'm so blessed that we're married and I'm excited for the next 80 years that we'll spend together!
