Happy 5th {Japanese} Anniversary!

(Keep reading for an explanation for the title of this post)

June 26th, 2009, My beloved and I got married on a hot summer day in Tulsa. We got married at Asbury United Methodist, honeymooned in Maui and lived our first married year in Stillwater, OK. After less than a year, we moved to Memphis. We lived there a little over a year and moved to Lafayette. Now we live in Youngsville, LA with a little girl and are loving life. What a fun five years it's been!

Last Thursday started off beautifully!

Jamie greeted me in the morning with a fun Birthday Anniversary card.

I love Disney, so I'm sure he was just finding the biggest card he could find, but they probably don't make giant anniversary cards with Disney characters on them. He's so thoughtful.

I knew we had fun dinner and movie plans that night, so the rest of our day was pretty normal.

We played outside.

I'm telling you, we should buy stock in Little Tikes, because we have a LOT of it!

Mid-morning ish, Jamie had Lucy bring me gift #2:

At this point, I was getting really anxious because this was two Disney themed gifts...I was DYING to know what #3 was going to be!

But I had to wait and play with this kid...

She's a good distraction on a fun day :)

Gift #3 came around lunch time:

At this point, I was floored!! Why all the Disney gifts?! I was getting super excited and antsy. Especially for gift #5. WHAT WAS IT?!?!?!?

Jamie wouldn't speed up the gifts...much to my dismay.

I'd like to let you readers know that he also got 5 gifts throughout the day. They were not themed like mine were but he received his favorite candy and drinks, a Lego set, a couple 3DS games, and Batman PJ pants.

Holy moly....I'm pretty sure every 12 year old in the world would have loved the gifts I got my 27 year old husband on our 5th anniversary.

For the love.

While I waited during the day, I continued to play with sweet pea:

I got gift #4 after Lucy's nap:

I love me some Disney figurines! So much! Did you know that my dream was to get engaged at Disney World, so when Jamie proposed, he bought this gorgeous Disney snow globe and played "Tale As Old As Time" in the background? He's such a stud.

Before I knew it, Emily came over to babysit Lucy and Leia, and Jamie and I were off to Ruth's Chris for dinner.

Jamie took me to Ruth's Chris on our honeymoon, and that has been our anniversary spot for the past 5 years. Not too shabby, huh?

We take a family picture every year. And Lucy was thrilled to be in this one:

Thankfully, Jamie didn't make me wait too long before he gave me gift #5. We had just gotten to the restaurant and got some warm bread and iced tea and he handed me this:

A precious Disney themed anniversary card with a handwritten note that brought very happy tears to my eyes. I'm usually the sappy letter writer, so I was thrilled to be on the receiving end of a sappy note. Warm my heart.

And after I read the note, I opened up the paper with the number "5" on it:

WE'RE GOING TO DISNEYLAND TOKYO!!!!!!!! WHAT WHAT?!?!?!?!?

Y'all. It's inappropriate to scream in a fancy restaurant, so I pretty much did all but that. I squealed. I wept. I said "Are you freakin' kidding me?" about 37 times. I cried some more. I squealed some more. I laughed. I bounced in the booth. So stoked!!!

Before Jamie and I got married, he made a promise to me that he'd take me to every Disney park in the world. We went to Disney World in Orlando about two years ago with Jamie, his brother and sister. You can start reading about that trip here. And then he took me to Disneyland Paris last December. You can read about that trip here. We're saving Disneyland California for when Lucy is a bit older and then who knows which destination is next?!?

But I am STOKED OUT OF MY MIND for Tokyo!!!! Neither of us have been to Japan, so this will be a really fun city to experience together. I know Nana Lana, Papa Steve, Chief and Kiki are already excited to keep our Lucy girl while we're gone :)

In the midst of my Japanese excitement, we still had dinner ahead of us! We both enjoyed a Caesar salad, perfectly cooked steak, mushrooms, mashed potatoes and a specialty dessert:

They have the BEST bread pudding! So delicious!

And this year, they did something new. They took our picture and printed it off for us. Such a fun surprise!

After dinner, we went to go see 22 Jump Street, which is wildly irreverent but hilarious! All in all, it was a top night. A top anniversary date night filled with surprises and fun and romance! The elation I'm still feeling is overwhelming! It'll be an awesome trip!

Happy 5 years, my love! Here's to the next 80+ years together!!!! Love love love you!
