Easter weekend holds good memories for me, as it was the first time we took Lucy to church last year. I remember being so nervous and excited just to get out of the house, and it was all just silliness. Besides an Easter blowout for our 8 week old sweet pea, church went great. It's a good thing Jamie and I are familiar with the "Easter sermon" because we had no idea what the pastor said that day. We were so consumed with making sure Lucy stayed asleep and happy and had a bottle and whatnot.
Oh new parents...
Easter weekend this year was fun! Jamie and I had just been out of town and busy and not together, and it was time for a family outing.
We enjoyed a yummy dinner at the Ground Pati, and my flower-loving baby had to stop and smell the flowers in their gorgeous flower garden.
Saturday was a funny day, because we had a lizard that was taunting both my real baby and my fur baby.
See it?
Oh the joys of living in southeast Louisiana in the summertime.

That little creep stuck around all day long!! Little did it know that it was going to lose its tail by the end of the day...
Look at my big girl in her toddler carseat!!
Back out after lunch, and that darned lizard is still there!!
Poor Leia couldn't catch a break.
This dog lives to hunt lizards and she just couldn't get this one!!
With a little lizard break, Jamie went out and surprised us with an exciting backyard accessory:
That's right! A baby pool!!
Lucy love the water and we had so much fun at our swimming lessons, so he thought it'd be fun to have a little pool to keep cool in this summer.
Why hey there, beach babe!
I wish she liked those sun glasses, because they're darn cute!!
She's discovering the pool...
Testing the water. At this point, it was still a bit chilly. Now when we fill up the pool, it's already bath water.
Easter morning, we all got ready for church and were all surprisingly on time. That's always an added bonus.
Jamie grew up doing Easter egg hunts before church and I did them after lunch with my cousins. We met in the middle and had Lucy hunt some Easter eggs before lunch and after church.
Daddy did a great job hiding them:

She had no idea what fun was ahead of her.
Lucy girl, this is the first year of many Easter egg hunts!! Since you are the first grand baby in the family, you will totally dominate all of your future cousins when it comes to hunting eggs! You go girl!
She got a bit distracted, so mama had to help her out:
Leia helped too. Of course.
After our vicious hunt, Julia came over for some Easter lunch. I made a classy meal of BBQ nachos. We brought a little bit of our Memphis roots to Lafayette. And how delicious they were!
I'm not the most up to date, quick minded, on top of things type of person or mom, so we dyed Easter eggs on Easter evening. I wish I would have thought about it sooner...but I didn't. Oh well! Lucy will never know the difference!
We kept it simple. Ain't no fancy egg dying around here!
Lucy had fun and we added a fun memory to our memory bank :)
We decorated them with Easter eggs, of course!
SUCH a fun Easter Sunday with my lovelies!
