Family Birthday Dinner

It has kind of become a family tradition to celebrate my birthday a day or two after Thanksgiving. Since I am indeed a Thanksgiving baby, we gotta cram all of the celebration fun in the same week. I'm okay with that :)

Saturday afternoon, we were watching the OU/OSU game at my house and the Schoenthaler's came by to watch the game and eat dinner with us. My dad worked hard on a shrimp boil, which was beyond delicious, and we just had a really nice, really fun evening at home. The perfect evening!

Unfortunately, our sweet Cowboys lost right at the end, but I was so proud of my Pokes. I'm certainly not a die-hard anything fan, but I do love my Cowboys and was hoping for a "W" for them.

Anyhoo, that's beside the point. Back to my b-day!

The shrimp boil included gigantic shrimp the size of a small whale! Ooo baby they were good! We also had corn on the cobb, 3 different kinds of sausage, and potatoes. Delicious. Jamie and I also brought a couple boxes of authentic boudin home from Lafayette. We knew the guys would like to munch on that. It's not my favorite, but the guys sure did enjoy it :)

Here's my delicious cookie cake:

I'd take a cookie cake over a cake any day. Yum!

Jamie brought me the cake so that I could blow out the candle:

I wish...I wish....

It only took one blow to get the candle out, so I think it's coming true.

Thank you to my family and Jamie's family for such a fun birthday dinner. The 28th is my actual 26th birthday, but I like to celebrate all month long. There's nothing wrong with that, is there? Didn't think so :) Love you guys and thank you for a fun celebratory night!
