I just adore this painting.
The reason for this post today is because two sweet little cuties struck a chord in my heart today when we were playing outside. Two of my girls were playing on the 2-seater bike, "running errands". One of them said, "Let's go to church!" Since I work at a school where we can openly talk about whatever we want, I felt the urge and the necessity to extend their conversation on church-going. So, I asked them if they go to church and one of them seemed really confused about it. So I told her about Jesus. I said that He lives in Heaven but that He used to live on Earth so that we could learn more about Him and His Heavenly Father. I said that He even died on the cross because He loves us so much! She got this really sad look on her face and said, "That's really sad, Mrs. Abby." My heart broke! I agreed with her and told her that it was incredibly sad but that His love for us is bigger then even our mommies and daddies love! "Wow!," she said. I didn't want to confuse her or give her too much information, so I told her that I'd love to tell her more about my friend, Jesus, whenever she wants. Her reply...
"Mrs. Abby. I want to be His friend, too."
It was so sincere. It was so honest. It was so tender. It is not something I am going to ignore and lay aside. I want to talk to her more about this and tell her about the God that I know and love. She may only be 4, but what a great age to have such a fantastic friend like Jesus in your heart.
Friends, please pray for me as I go to school day in and day out. I know for a fact that I have some kids in my class who serve other gods. Pray that I can be a light of truth and that they see something different in me. Pray that more conversations like the one I had today can happen.
Love and hugs to you all! Hope you had a marvelous Monday!

Loved that post! I am sure you will find a way to show the kids in your class Jesus' love! That is really special that you have the opportunity to talk to them about that in a school setting!
