Writing Down Goals

HI THERE!!!!
Believe it or not, I was actually that cheery this morning. I, for some odd reason, was in a really good mood. Could it be that I woke up at 4:00 to work out? Nope. Could it be that I worked out with Claire? Possibly :) Could it be that I had this for breakfast:
A little berry banana smoothie...maybe :) It could also be that I chose to make some goals for myself which is why I woke up with a good attitude and a smile on my face. More to come at the bottom of this post.

Let's back up...

Kickboxing:
Blurry picture, but Claire and I got our butts totally whooped in kickboxing on Thursday. It was a lot of fun but a major booty-kicking workout! We went again on Saturday morning and that class was even worse!! I've never worked out so hard that I thought I was gonna puke...until Saturday. It was pretty incredible! We're going back tomorrow!

I'm Messy:
Friday was a rough day at school, mostly because I'm an idiot. Usually my kids spill on me, but on Friday, I was the one who continued to spill on me!
Exhibit A:
Ranch on shirt. I was eating veggies with ranch dip, and I dribbled it down my shirt. Nice. So I smelled of nasty ranch. Lovely.
Exhibit B:
Green beans on green pants. I was getting the kids' lunch ready and spilled a big container (probably 3 cups worth) of greasy green beans all over my pants. So I smelled like ranch and a cafeteria. This happened around noon. I get off at 6:00. So that's at least 6 hours of smelling like a child. Happy Friday to me!!

Moving on...

There were 3 in the bed...:
Our friends, Sarah and BJ were kid/house-sitting for some church friends. They have 4--yes 4--boys. Triplet boys and an older boy. Wowzers. These boys love our husbands, so Claire and I and our beloveds came over and hung out. The men/boys played video games and the girls cuddled up in Leigh and Steven's bed :) We thought we were hilarious. (Which we were). So we HAD to take a picture of us. Duh! It was my perfect evening. We ate junky food. Sat in bed. Watched Food Network. And talked for hours. Utter perfection.

That was a pretty fabulous evening! I'd do it every weekend :) Love you guys!

Goals:
I have done countless workout videos, and all of them say to write your goals down. Why haven't I done this prior to now? Crazy me. So, I sat down on Saturday morning, while Jamie was sleeping for 12 hours!!!...and I wrote down my goals. Here they are:
  1. Be more consistent in reading the bible chronologically with Bellevue
  2. Pray more faithfully
  3. Have a quiet time every morning (great way to start the day)
  4. Have more intentional time with Jamie (not just in front of the TV)
  5. Stop saying "freaking" and "effing" (it's rather unclassy of me)
  6. Be more verbally encouraging
  7. Write a letter a week (an actual hand-written letter)
  8. Eat more veggies
  9. Clean my house every day (just a quick 15 minute run through)
  10. Arrive at work, expecting to have a great day, knowing that I will change lives as a teacher
  11. Work out 5 days a week
  12. Seek out healthier dinner options
  13. Stop impulse eating
  14. Decrease sugar intake
So there you have it! I gave up on my New Years Resolution, because it stressed me out and I became super legalistic and didn't follow it and then got ticked at myself...I just didn't like that method. So now here are my long term goals. Thoughts? Suggestions? Do you write goals for yourself? How do you follow them?

So that's all :) I hope you all have an absolutely OUTSTANDING Monday evening and enjoy the Bachelor. I've got to wrap up this post because I just heard Chris Harrison in the background!!! Ahhh! Girls Tell All night! Woop woop!
