Army Wives

By now, you are all well aware of my obsessions. I get hooked on something, and I stay hooked! Well, the show Army Wives is one of my newest ones. Army Wives is a fictional TV show based on real life situations in the "Army world". Surely you've heard of it? It's on Lifetime! Come on, ladies! Please tell me you've seen this! Well, anyhoo, I used to watch it back in 2007 when it first aired, but then I just lost track. It is now on Instant Netflix and I have now completed all of Season 1, 13 episodes in about 3 days. Yipes! That's what happens when you're sick. You watch A LOT of TV. It's good for you!

Well, back in the day, when Jamie was just a prayer, this show was horribly sad for me. Watching these wives say goodbye to their husbands as they head to Iraq to fight in the war made me unbelievably teary. But now, now that I have a husband of my own, this show has a completely different meaning. Just the shear thought of Jamie being in the military makes me shiver and want to throw up. I am so grateful that he has a job right here in Memphis. Granted, the location of his job is in the hood and he's practically entering a war zone every single day, it ain't nothin' like fighting overseas.

Also, watching this show, now as a wife, I have a brand new respect for all of the army wives and husbands out there. They have the toughest job in the world. They have to support their spouses no matter where they are or what they're doing. They have to trust that God is going to lead their lives accordingly, whether that means life or death. They have to take care of their children with smiles on their faces, pretending to be okay. They have to continue on with their day to day duties, striving to be strong, despite their heartbreak deep inside. They have to live their lives. I'm so glad I'm not an Army wife. I think I'd need a straight jacket and a padded room because I'd be a sad sad case of pathetic.

My favorite Army wife is Roxy. She's a sassy, bar-working blonde who is wild and sexy and funny and madly in love with her husband! I love their relationship. I love their friendship. I love their marriage and how crazy in love they are. I just love her. I just love her spunk and zeal for life! She's also encouraging and fun loving and will fight for what she believes in. Just in case you were wondering, she's my favorite and I wish I had a little bit of Roxy in me :)
Tearful Video:
I know many of you have seen this video, but if you haven't, take a few minutes (when you have time to reapply your make-up) and watch this. As you're watching, please take a few minutes to pray for our military families, thanking them for their unbelievably hard work and dedication for our freedom. God bless those soldiers and their families. They're better people than I could ever be!!

  1. Two things: 1) I love Army Wives also!! Such a great show. 2) I freaking love your little doggy. I have a seven year old dachshund and she looks like your pup's identical twin. She is my princess and I do everything I possibly can to indulge her every need. How old is your baby?

  3. This video gets me every single time. I've watched it now 10 times at least... and I boo-hooed like a baby last night watching Army Wives. After a while, Phillip told me I needed to get a hold of myself. I was crying like I was on the show.
