I'm Alive!!!

Have you been afraid that I've abandoned the blogging world?! Sure you have! You've been checking your updates and your e-mail by the hour, I'm sure, just to see if "A Deeper Life" has been updated....Back to reality...yeah right. We all know there are only like 2 people who read this blog, and they're family members. All that to say, I'm back.

The reason I've been MIA for so long is because I've been sick as a stinkin' dog! About 2 weeks ago, I was a little ill. Mild fever, big cough, sore throat, the works! Well, I thought I was getting better, but then Friday, I started feeling worse. Saturday, I drove to Tulsa to see mi familia. I just continued to get worse and worse. And this week, I practically had zero voice! My job is to talk basically!! I NEED a voice. And I haven't had it. So, I left school after 3 hours of working on Friday and went to the doctor. PS, I spent 3 hours in the urgent care waiting room Wednesday night. I left after 3 hours and didn't get seen by a doctor. I was less than amused. So the doctor said on Friday that I basically got hit by a train of the worst cold ever! I got a shot in my arm and not my rear (praise Jesus), an inhaler because I failed my breathing test, a cough suppressant and an antibiotic. Got all of that on Friday, and I already feel much better! My voice is still gone, but I don't feel like such a sickly loser.

Luck had it that I was able to go to my friend Emily's wedding on Saturday night. I didn't think I'd be able to go. My mom and I just went to the ceremony so that we could spend time with my dad at dinner afterwards. It was a gorgeous, heart felt, unbelievably perfect ceremony. Don't you love going to weddings where everything is perfect for the bride and you can tell she had her hand in it? I don't like going to weddings where they're soooo nooot like the bride. So, this one was perfect :)

BONUS! I got to see one of my best friends, Meredith at the wedding.:
Oh how I miss my friends from home! So very badly! And look at how sexy she is sporting that leopard print cardigan! Love it! Love her!

All in all, the short, 24 hour weekend with my parents was perfect. We fine dined. Had great conversation. Played with Leia. And just had a ball. I was so glad I went :)

This week was rather eventless besides the fact that I nearly cut my thumb off.

Yeah, that was just a little bit of the blood. There was lots and lots and lots of blood. It was bad. And it continued bleeding 3 days later. Yipes. Probably shoulda gotten stitches. Well, I got that liquid skin stuff, and that kind of works, but not really. It feels like melted wax and probably works the same too. Oh well. It'll do. I don't want stitches. Needles don't scare me, but a needle and thread going in and out of my skin kind of horrifies me. Sooo....I'm not getting it done!

Well, I just looked at my watch and I have about 25 minutes to get ready for church. I'm not showering. Not shaving my legs. Wearing minimal make-up. Maybe fixing my hair. And will certainly find a cute outfit to make up for the rest of my scary body. Wish me luck!
