"Ready ready ready ready ready to run! All I'm ready to do is have some fu-u-u-u-un!" Thank you, Dixie Chicks for that catchy tune!
Yesterday, I ran in the St. Jude 5K and it was a blast!!! I finished in 35 minutes and 39 seconds and for someone who is NOT runner, I was pretty proud of that time :) Would I like to do another one? Heck yes!! I had a ball and would love to support such a phenomenal cause in doing something fun with friends. See ya next year, St. Jude!
I captured a few pics of my first race and here they are:
All my gear laid out the night before. I was super ready!:
Breakfast for champions. Oatmeal, water, nanner.:
Hello 5:30 AM!! Shoulda worn some face paint...yipes! I slept maybe an hour the night before. I was so antsy!:
My cute running buddy, Jenny!:
Check out my cute new running outfit and my official number:
The start line! Whoop whoop! When the race started everyone began running and then it all of a sudden came to a halt. I guess you had to be there because it was pretty hilarious when we all ran into each other right off the bat. My heart was racing at this point, but I was so pumped up and ready to run!:
Lotta people in front of us!:
Me and my hubs after the race! He was very supportive and encouraging!:
We crossed the finish line at Autozone Park. Praise Jesus the last bit was all down hill :) :
Thanks James for this pretty picture.:
Accomplished runners!:
Me and my medal! My FIRST ever running medal!:
Hello Mandy Jones! I'm so excited! Just look at those scary veins popping out of my face!:
Throughout the race I was repeating in my head, "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me!" (Philippians 4:13) And it's so true. God gives us strength when we are weak! Trust in Him to get you through the races and the trials and tribulations and He will hold your hand and get you through it!
Love y'all and I hope you've had a great weekend!
Congrats Abby!! I almost did one on Thanksgiving day here in Dallas, but I chickened out!! I'm so proud you ran one! Keep it up!
