Cookie Exchange

Okay, let's get back to some happiness in life. Like cookies!!!

Cookie Exchange:
Last week, my friend Whitney from Sunday School, had a Christmas Cookie Exchange at her house and it was a blast! I was immediately thinking, "M&M Cookies! Duh! Those are my very favorite!" But then I thought, "No....let's do something new!" So I looked at several websites, and finally settled on the Black and White Red Velvet Cookies from Joy the Baker. If you aren't familiar with her, get to know her! She has a really fun, yummy and funny food blog! But anyway, here is the result:
They were delicious, but I was unhappy with how the white icing turned out. (I also wasn't really using exact measurements...that's a baking no-no.)

Here are some of the other cookies from that night:
Holly and Lisa nomming on some yummo cookies:
Cute little gingerbread boys:
Me and Miss Lisa:
Whitney and Jenny. Jenny won for prettiest cookie:
Whitney and Wendy. Wendy won for yummiest cookie:
Holly was taking some senior pics:
Super duper fun party! I love having friends that like to have parties and enjoy cooking! When people say they can't cook, I believe that's just a load of bunk! Anyone can cook! So, thanks Whitney! Way fun party!! Let's do it again soon! Like a Valentines Day cookie exchange party! And every other holiday! Woo hoo!

Love My Job:
I've really enjoyed my new job teaching pre-k. My kids are precious, the parents are lovely AND I enjoy the ladies I teach with! Win win win! In the past couple weeks, we've had several speakers come and talk to us about how they celebrate Christmas around the world like in England, Poland, Sweden, Germany, Mexico and so forth. It's been very educational and very interesting! We also had a traveling petting zoo come visit us! Super fun!

It's been a fun few weeks at school, but I'm certainly ready for a break already :) Today, we are having a gingerbread house decorating party with the kids and parents! How fun is that?! Super stoked!

I better get going. I hope you all have a very blessed Thursday and make the very best of it! Love ya'll and God Bless!!

  1. So glad you are loving your new teaching job Abby! You are going to be the kids all time favorite teacher! It's fun to get to see pics of them. I wish I could take pictures of my munchkins, because they do some pretty picture worthy things sometime. Have a great day!
