WICKED!!!!:
Oh my mercy...what a fabulous night with a fabulous show and fabulous friends!!! Last night, I saw Wicked with Sarah and Jenny and it was awesome! I would have taken pictures of us all dressed up, but it was rainy and I felt yucky. So no pictures. Sarah and I grabbed dinner at this really tasty restaurant called Papa Pia's and it was delish! We felt really proud of our dinner because both of us only spent $10. Go us! We shared the manicotti and the cannelloni for dessert. It was all delicious and I'll certainly go back!
Wicked was outstanding! The leads were so very talented and I just wanted to be on stage with them! You wanna hear kind of a humbling/embarrassing story of mine? Well, a few years ago, my family went to New York and we saw Wicked there. I was so excited about it, because I had just seen it in Oklahoma City and it was outstanding! So I was ready to see it on Broadway. It was kind of a let down because the lady who played Elphaba was awful!!! She was skreechy and just bad. So anyway, I got really cocky and thought to myself, "Abby, you are a lot better than this wacko. YOU should be on Broadway!!!" So for about a whole semester, I was convinced I was going to be on Broadway and be the next Idina Menzel. So I researched how to get an agent and how to get my name out there and how to audition....then reality hit me. I don't have the ballzonias to do anything like that! Like I've mentioned before, me being a singer is my fantasy. Not my reality. I love being a wife and a puppy mom and a Kindermusik teacher. :)
Here are a few Wicked videos to make you happy:
On to a totally different topic...
Modern Day Miracles:
Jamie and I had a really interesting conversation yesterday after church. We were talking about why God doesn't do big things like make donkeys talk or turn a bush into flames or bring dead people back to life. Yes I know miracles happen every day such as a woman surviving from a breast cancer battle and a child who is born dead but begins to breathe... I don't know. It's a tough topic, and I don't know the answer to it.
*Why do bad things happen?
*Why do people not believe in God?
*Should God have to prove Himself?
*Why doesn't He make Himself more evident?
*Can we credit all good things in life to God?
*How do we "listen" to God?
The reason that I'm bringing this up publicly, is because I want YOU to tell ME on this blog, in the comments section what miracles God has done in your life. How have you seen Him move in your life or in your family/friend's life. I want to hear all about it!!! I'm serious, let's give God some credit and brag about how amazing He is and everything He has done in our lives! So take 5 minutes and think about how He has moved in your life and in your heart. Tell me about the miracles you've seen. Please. Please. Please. You can even do it anonymously! Take some time to brag about our Lord and Savior and tell it to the world!
I realize I just went from a light topic to a very heavy topic, but I think we need to start getting serious about our God. Each of us knows someone who either doesn't know the Lord or is hurting in their walk with Christ. Let's lift up our brothers and sisters and encourage them to walk hand-in-hand with our sweet Heavenly Father! Here is a good site, telling you about the miracles mentioned in scripture. Check it out. Schedule Today:
I had kindermusik this morning.
I just had cheese and triscuits and strawberries and a banana for lunch.
I'm going to clean up the house.
Vacuum.
Go running.
Make chicken and veggie alfredo lasagna for dinner (new recipe!!)
Get the guest room looking decent.
And I think that's it.
LOVE Y'ALL!!!

Abby...love your heart! I have experienced personally several miracles but less than 2 mos ago a pretty cool one (altho they are all cool) with my sweet friend Kristin. She'd been having a horrible cough for 7 wks. She was fatigued, lost 10 lbs (a lot for her already small body) and no appetite and pain in her lung area. After 7 wks she went to the doctor (finally);) and after an x-ray, CT and such they found a spot on her lung. We began ramping up the prayers and pleading with our all-powerful, fully able, most compassionate healing Father to touch her body in a healing and miraculous way. On Sept 8 she went in for a biopsy. They had her in OR, she was being sedated but kept saying that she'd been feeling better for the past few days and the surgeon stopped the prep work, took her down to x-ray and it was all but gone! What was once a rather good sized area on her lung was now a small thin line on her lung. No biopsy was done. Over the next few days/weeks her cough stopped, she began feeling healthy and strong. She went back last week for a follow-up x-ray. There is what appears to be a thin line on her lung that the dr called a 'scar' - I believe God left the scar as proof of the healing we all were blessed to experience!
