Day 3 of our fabulous London trip started off beautifully! Jamie and I woke up, had a delicious breakfast and then headed outside to walk around Hyde Park. We stayed at the Hilton right next to the park, so it was an easy walk over there to explore. Oh it was glorious! The weather was nice, there were dogs running everywhere, it was just perfect! And any day that my hubby will go on a stroll with me is a good day!
Hi, hot stuff:
I could really get used to walking around Hyde park. It was gorgeous, and I can only imagine how beautiful it is when the leaves are all changing different colors!
As we headed to the Museum of Natural History, we came across this structure:
Y'all, I am the absolute worst travel journalist, because I have NO idea what the building are that we saw. I just know some of the buildings were pretty and I wanted to have pictures of the sights and surroundings.
But anyways, I found this stature interesting and it was all blocked off by a golden gate. I figured it was of some importance and significance.
When we got to the museum, they were just opening it up, so we were one of the first ones in there! It was a HUGE museum! I mean, gigantic!
Massive, I tell ya.
There were dinosaurs:
And tree trunk chunks:
And me:
And safari animals:
And sea creatures:
It was at this museum where I had my first weep over being away from my baby. There were kids everywhere, and I had a little mini meltdown. Missed my kid. But was happy to be with my hubby.
The museum was fantastic and really entertaining, and we had a lovely time! Didn't take too many pictures, because taking pictures at a museum is kind of lame, I discovered. I ended up just putting my camera down and enjoying the time with Jamie.
Our next stop was a pub for some fish and chips! That was one of the big things on my "to-do" list for London.
We walked and walked and walked. And walked.
Walked into several pubs and they were all full. They don't exactly take your name and party number down, so there's no waiting for a table unless you want to hover around a table for someone to finish. We finally lucked out and both of us sat down ready for some grub!
Our waiter was sweet enough to take this picture of us, and I was thrilled:
We were uncomfortable full by the time we finished our lunch, and it was well worth it. Honestly, this was the best meal I had in London. I'm telling you...they're just not known for their cuisine. But the fish and chips...perfection!
I'm thankful I was with someone who can follow a map, because I would have been LOST on the tube! Lost, I tell ya! But Jamie was a pro at getting us around the city using the tube.
Before we headed back to the hotel for the night, we stopped at Selfridges for some sweet treats, and I of course decided on macaroons.
Oh my deliciousness.
If you all have never had a macaroon, you're missing out. These bad boys were heaven to my mouth! So great! The pink ones on the left were rose and champagne, I believe. Wow wow we-wow! Heaven.
Day 3 ended beautifully with dinner at our hotel, and then we called it a night. Tomorrow, we head to Disneyland Paris! Woo hoo!
